Experience the unique wine, food music and flavours of Langhorne Creek at Cellar Treasures 2024

Explore unique events, masterclasses, and intimate dining experiences this August during the festival, less than an hour from Adelaide.

From August 9th to 11th this year, the boutique wine region of Langhorne Creek, less than an hour from Adelaide, will host its highly anticipated Cellar Treasures festival. This three-day event promises to showcase the very best of the area’s award-winning vintages, delectable gourmet food, and live entertainment. And as someone who is a regular to this festival, I can assure you, it’s FILLED with actual treasures for your cellar. In addition to the wines so exclusive, you can only try and buy them at the cellar door, there are an array of other wonderful offerings worth checking out too.

Langhorne Creek, known for its boutique wineries and intimate dining experiences, will come alive with an array of special events, masterclasses, and live music performances. Each element of the festival is designed to highlight the region’s unique offerings.

The festivities kick off on Friday August 9th, with several key events. The Winehouse will offer a private tasting and grazing session from 12-3pm. Priced at $80 per person, guests can enjoy an afternoon with notable winemakers John Glaetzer, Ben Potts, and Ben Glaetzer. The session includes tastings of both museum and current release wines from John’s Blend, Gipsie Jack, Ben Potts Wines, and Heartland.

On the Friday, Lake Breeze Wines is also hosting its Museum Lunch from 12:30pm-4pm. At $125 per person, this event will feature a four-course meal paired with some of the winery’s most exceptional back vintage wines, curated by winemaker Greg Follett.

Another noteworthy dinner event is at Angas Plains Wines. From 7-11pm, a $100pp ticket secures you a seat at a dinner that couples dishes with current and museum release wines.

The following day, Saturday August 10th, continues with Bremerton’s Masterclass from 11am-1pm. For $50, Rebecca Willson and Matt Schmidt will introduce participants to the intricacies of wine creation. Kimbolton Wines is also hosting a Wine & Cheese Masterclasses at 11am and 2pm for $35, highlighting regional artisan cheeses with museum wines.

Additionally, Vintage Vibes & Crafty Brews at the Langhorne Creek Town Hall promises a day filled with good music, vintage wines, local brews, and tasty tacos from 11am to 10pm, all for just $15 entry.

The Cellar Treasures festival also caters to enthusiasts with specific interests. For instance, wine flights exploring ‘The King of Malbec’ titles by Bleasdale are available on Friday and Saturday for $35, accompanied by a cheese platter.

For those with a sweet tooth, Vineyard Road presents Chocolate & Wine Pairings across the festival weekend from 11am to 4pm for $30, perfect for learning about pairing wines with chocolates.

The weekend is rounded off with pop-up events such as the Cellar Door & Warehouse Sale at Temple Bruer, offering a selection of organic and vegan wines, and museum tastings at Angas Plains and WindSong Wines.

Kanoetree Wines will make a notable appearance as they launch their new cellar door at the historic Milang Lakeside Butter Factory. They will feature special vertical and museum tastings from Friday to Sunday, priced at $10, with free regular tastings and live music on Sunday.
