Explore the beauty of the Southwestern Coast on the world’s largest sailing ship, Golden Horizon

The 162 metre luxury ship will provide guests a front-row seat to South Australian gems such as Kangaroo Island, Coffin Bay and the Bunda Cliffs.

The world’s largest sailing ship has South Australia in its sights, as it prepares to set sail from Adelaide to Perth in January 2022 on its Australian maiden voyage, gracing the stunning southern coast to offer 272 lucky passengers a rarely-seen tour of Southern Australia’s coastal rugged beauty.

Cruise Traveller’s 17-night ‘Rail and Sail Remote Southwestern Australia’ holiday offers a once-in-a-lifetime tour of the southern coast, setting sail for Fremantle from Adelaide and taking in eight breathtaking destinations from the Golden Horizon – all 162 metres of it. After taking in the beauty of Australia’s Southwest, guests will be invited to disembark and experience the bustle of Perth’s CBD for 2 nights, before boarding the iconic Indian Pacific train to Adelaide, complete with dinner and drinks onboard to round off an incredible tour of Southwestern Australia by sea and rail.

The luxury vessel also stands as the most eco-friendly ship from Tradewind Voyages, with 70% of its journey powered purely through wind. This eco-friendly element of Golden Horizon is even more impressive when you consider the sheer size of the ship, which boasts 6300 square metres of billowing sails.

For anyone who thinks they have to forego luxury when it comes to sea-faring, Golden Horizon’s fine cuisine dining room, gym, library, spa sanctuary and marine platform might just change your mind. If ocean travel makes you desperate for a swim, guests are able to take a dip in one of the vessel’s three pools, and wash down their daily in-take of fresh sea air with a tipple from one of four bars. Passengers even have the chance to conquer the high seas themselves, taking to the waves on one of the ship’ kayaks, waterskis or wakeboards.

With each of the 140 cabins guaranteeing panoramic ocean views, passengers aboard the Golden Horizon will secure a front row seat to some of the southern coast’s remote gems, often out of reach for larger vessels, such as Kangaroo Island, oyster capital Coffin Bay and the spectacular Bunda Cliffs, which tower over the waves for more than 100km.
