Clare Valley

Explore the Clare Valley wine region on this new self-guided bike tour

The Clare Valley is one of South Australia’s most iconic regions and home to some of the world’s best wines, and one of the best ways to visit them all is with a trip down the Clare Valley Riesling Trail – a 35km track that can be walked but is recommended to be cycled.

Stretching from Auburn to Barinia, the trail gives visitors the chance to take in the gorgeous Clare Valley while also tasting some of the finest drops from the area.

But the track can be overwhelming if you’re not familiar with the area. If this is you, then the Roaming Riesling Ride could be just what you need.

The new self-guided tour is part of this years Clare Valley Gourmet week and makes it simple to plan your ride before you begin, because who’s got time to get lost when there are wines to be had?!

With three different routes to choose from, all you have to do is select your favourite upon booking and then all you have to do is pick up your bikes and put your pedal to the metal!

Your route choices are:
1. Knappstein Wines, Sevenhill Cellars, O’Leary Walker Wines
2. Crabtree Wines, Taylors Wines, Sevenhill Hotel
3. Claymore Wines, Wines by KT, UPPside Restaurant (Thurs-Mon only)

Starting at the Clare Valley Wine, Food and Tourism Centre, you’ll be offered a coffee to get that bike-riding energy flowing while being provided with your personal brochure with all the information you need.

And if the thought of riding 35km doesn’t seem at all inviting, you’ll be pleased to know that the bikes are electric so most of the hard work is done for you!

Clare Valley Gourmet Week kicks off today with Gourmet Weekend and continues for the next ten days, showcasing the very best produce from the region. The event has evolved from a 2-day affair into the extended version we now know and love and transforms the Clare region into a thriving hub of activity.

The Roaming Reisling Ride is available from Monday 16th May – Sunday 22nd May and bookings are essential.
