The South Australian Game Exhibition (SAGE) is set to return in 2026, taking over Adelaide Studios on Friday, February 6th and Saturday, February 7th. This will be SAGE’s fourth iteration of this event, which has quickly become the highlight of South Australia’s game development scene, particularly as part of the highly anticipated Adelaide Fringe festivities.
The event, hosted by the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC), showcases talent within South Australia. It features an impressive array of locally developed games, including mobile, PC, console, and VR platforms. This year, attendees can look forward to a record-setting display of 41 video games from local studios, including 15 new participants showcasing their work for the first time.

Offering free access, SAGE is a family-friendly event that allows video game enthusiasts and casual players to play and interact with new, unreleased games. It also provides an opportunity to meet and learn from the developers behind these creations, giving them a glimpse into the future of gaming.
Alongside the games, SAGE will host the ‘SAGE Advice’ program, which includes talks and panel discussions with industry experts and local developers. These sessions are designed to enlighten attendees on various aspects of gaming, from creative processes to technical execution.
Another exciting feature of the 2026 edition is the SAGE Awards. Presented by the SAFC in partnership with the South Australian Games Association (SAGA), these awards recognise excellence within the local industry and include monetary prizes and professional services to support further development. Categories like Best in Exhibition and SAGE Elevate Award highlight the commitment to highlighting and building local talent.

Arts Minister Andrea Michaels MP shared, “It’s fantastic to have SAGE back at Adelaide Studios for 2026! Game development is an incredibly exciting and growing industry globally, with the latest figures showing Australians spend $3.8 billion on video games each year. Our state is home to brilliant, creative minds, and the games industry presents significant opportunities for South Australia. This event brings together video game designers, studios and fans to connect and collaborate.”
SAFC CEO Kate Croser added, “South Australia’s games industry is alive with creativity and talent, and SAGE is your chance to dive in and experience it first-hand. From groundbreaking original titles to bold, imaginative concepts, this event showcases the best our local developers and artists have to offer. We’re deeply grateful to our incredible partners and sponsors for making SAGE 2026 possible, and for helping the SAFC grow this exciting annual event to become an important part of Australia’s games industry calendar. SAGE is where South Australia’s vibrant games community comes together – and we can’t wait to welcome you to discover the very best of this thriving sector.”
The SAGE Elevate Showcase will also present a more diverse mix from the local industry, featuring 11 studios. This curated space makes sure of broader exposure to the creativity coming out of the South Australian gaming sector.
Tickets can be grabbed for free, making this event an unmissable opportunity for anyone interested in gaming!
