Adelaide, get ready to explore the extraordinary and the astonishing as the Oddities and Curiosities Expo sets up shop for its very first event in the city on November 30th and December 1st.

This is a celebration that embraces in the outlandish and the peculiar. Founded in Oklahoma, this expo is the first of its kind, and it promises two days filled with unique and bizarre finds from all over the country. From taxidermy and preserved specimens to custom horror artwork and antiquities, there’s something for everyone.

The expo will make its mark at the Adelaide Showgrounds, welcoming individuals with all levels of interest in oddities and providing a platform for attendees to meet the artists and vendors. Attendees will have the opportunity to shop for unique items such as skulls, bones, dark artworks, metaphysical items, and funeral collectibles, while also getting involved in photo opportunities, tarot readings, and sideshow performances.

One of the event highlights is the butterfly pinning entomology class, led by expert Jason Penfold from Violet Eyes Entomology. In this workshop, students will learn to create their own pinned butterfly specimens. The class runs both days from 1:30pm to 3:30pm, with tickets priced at $235, which also covers expo entry.

“We are so incredibly excited to return to Australia this December,” said event founder, Michelle Cozzaglio.

“We were absolutely shocked at the interest for our first tour there in 2023 and look forward to returning bigger and better this year as we expand room sizes, add more vendors and add one new city! We met so many amazing people within the Australian oddities community last year and we can’t wait to bring everyone together again.”

Importantly, all animal items at the Oddities and Curiosities Expo such as those used in taxidermy classes, are ethically sourced, with specimens having died from natural causes.

Tickets for the expo start at $25 if purchased in advance or $30 at the door, with free entry for children under the age of 12. This is the perfect event to engage with a world of bizarre delights and extraordinary encounters at this one-of-a-kind event.
