Extra bus services have been scheduled to beef up transport to this year’s Royal Adelaide Show, facilitating easier and safer travel for attendees. The show is running from August 31st to September 8th, with Adelaide Metro providing over 2100 additional services to manage the expected increase in passenger volume.

Attendees can access more than 30 stops in close proximity to the Adelaide Showground. An express shuttle service, departing from Currie Street, will also be available. This service will operate every 20 minutes on weekdays and every 15 minutes on weekends, extending its route to include select U-Park locations.

For those travelling from further afield, the 22W O-Bahn Show buses will offer direct connections from Tea Tree Plaza interchange to the showgrounds, with services running every 15 to 30 minutes. Also available are three morning services from Golden Grove Village daily.

Additional convenience is offered through a free bus service for families choosing to drive and park nearby. This shuttle runs between the Netball SA Stadium at Keswick and the showgrounds from Sunday to Friday, and from the South Australian Power Networks carpark on Saturdays, with increased frequency during peak times.

Rail services are also catered for, with trains on the Flinders and Belair lines making stops at the Adelaide Showground railway station. Express Seaford services will be available during key times throughout the day, and tram users can easily walk from Goodwood Road stop to the Leader Street entrance of the showground.

For fare payment, the metroCARD will be the best-value option. Passengers are encouraged to recharge and register their cards before their trip. The metroCARD can be purchased at Adelaide Metro stations or from local retailers. Alternatively, tap and pay options are available on all trams and buses, with seamless transfer to train services from Adelaide Railway Station.

The Adelaide Metro Buy & Go app offers an additional method for ticket purchase, allowing for a variety of ticket types including daytrip and three-day visitor passes. The app also supports group validations, where up to five passengers can use the same device for ticket scanning.

Children under five travel free with a fare-paying adult, and on weekends, children aged five to 15 can also travel free with an adult holding a valid day trip ticket. Seniors Card holders in South Australia benefit from free travel every day.

Passengers are encouraged to visit www.adelaidemetro.com.au to check their timetable in real time and plan their show day with Adelaide Metro’s journey planner.
