Fall in love with the Clare Valley at Australiaʼs original (and loveliest) food and wine event, the Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend.
Held next weekend, the event celebrates the many labours of love from the regionʼs winemakers and food artisans.
“This yearʼs festival is a true celebration of all that makes our region delicious,” Clare Valley Winemakers Inc. Executive Officer, Tania Matz said.
“Our 2014 vintage wines are sensational and our winemakers canʼt wait to share them with the crowds that join us for Gourmet.”
Jim Barry Winemaker Tom Barry is excited to share the wineriesʼ new vintage whites and reds this May.
“Our Shiraz and Cabernet wines will warm the hearts of all comers to the festival this year. There is nothing like a glass of Clare Shiraz on a cool Autumn day,” Tom said.
Thereʼs also something for the beer lovers and foodies too.
“Pikes Beer Company recently opened its craft brewery and will be offering visitors the chance to taste some of its ʻin-progressʼ brews,” Tania said.
“Pauletts, Jeanneret Wines and Clare Valley Brewing Co. will also have a range of craft brews on offer over the weekend.”
Food lovers will delight in the weekendʼs festivities with delicious local produce prepared by some of the regionʼs top chefs, including Skillogaleeʼs Nicola Palmer and Scott Liddell from Salterʼs Restaurant.
“The diversity of food and food events on offer this year is impressive,” Tania said.
“Just a few of the selections include southern style pulled-pork sliders and jerk chicken, paella cooked over vine cuttings, food trucks, cooking demonstrations, chocolate and truffle morsels matched to wines and a “makerʼs harvest” long table dinner serving the best regional fare including our famous Mid-North lamb.
“Thereʼs just so much to love at this yearʼs festival!” Tania said.
