Adelaide’s Sarah Shanahan shares her latest local discoveries with Glam Adelaide in her regular column.
I love discovering local creatives right here in Adelaide while out and about exploring all the fabulous stores this wonderful city has to offer. Katherine ‘Creative by Katherine’ is one of my new finds, well ok obsessions, lately!
Katherine is a clever little cookie who not only creates gorgeous handmade felt creations but handmade bamboo jewellery too, while having a few toddlers under her feet! Katherine is a graphic designer by trade, but since having babies has got a whole lot more crafty with those busy fingers of hers and in January this year ‘Creative by Katherine’ was established.
I first stumbled upon Katherine’s creative endeavours while having a coffee at ‘Brick and Mortar Creative’, Norwood, a favourite spot on my shopping tours. Katherine’s sweet little 100% wool felt ‘accessory’ bowls were calling me from across the room and begging to come home with me. Handmade and useful in any area of the house, think kids rooms, study, bathroom, kitchen, they look super stylish anywhere!
Since launching her business Katherine can been found at our many fabulous markets around Adelaide and also online. Katherine currently has her work on display at embellish flowers, Grenfell Street, Adelaide, and imadeitcreative, no 6 cafe, Glenelg.
You can find Katherine’s gorgeous wares online at www.creativebyKatherine.com.au and her gorgeous Instagram @creativebyKatherine
