Fashion Avenue Event Returns To Adelaide

The wait is finally over – Adelaide fashion event Fashion Avenue, is making a return Saturday 1 September 2012, but with an exciting new-season twist.

For the first time, national designers will join South Australia’s best designers; together showcasing their collections to Adelaide’s elite fashion crowd at the Queens Theatre.

Announcing her first Spring/Summer season event, Christabel Dundon, Founder of Fashion Avenue and Director of Pride Models, said she was delighted by the overwhelming enthusiasm of all designers both locally and nationally for the show.

“The fashion industry is constantly growing in Adelaide and the time has well and truly come for a national show of this standard. We are a state that prides itself on lifestyle and fashion, so we are staging a fashion event that brings together the very best to be found both here in South Australia and around the country.”

Never before has Adelaide had a fashion event of this caliber, with over ten designers participating in the glamorous evening event, including an exclusive VIP Moet & Chandon bar designed by Louis Bond.

17 year old IMG model Shanna Jackway is the Face of Fashion Avenue 2012, and at such a young age, has already made a mark in the fashion world having appeared in Vogue Australia and Marie Claire Australia. Already labeled as ‘one to watch’, 2013 will be even bigger for Shanna as she relocates to New York to pursue a modeling career fulltime and make her mark in the international modeling scene.

Adelaide fashionistas will enjoy exclusive first looks at national label’s Spring/Summer-12 collections including the likes of Alannah Hill, Lisa Ho, Gorman, Joveeba, and Morrison. The show’s finale will be a sneak peek at celebrity designer Alex Perry’s hottest new collection.

Representing South Australia in high style, local designers including Cameo, Finders Keepers, Keepsake, Jophiel, and Angel Wings will display their newest ranges as Pride Models’ top models will be flown in from New York, Paris and Sydney to strut their designs on the runway.

“Fashion Avenue has become a key part of Adelaide’s fashion landscape. It is a prestigious night of style and glamour; transforming our fashion calendar, and really showcasing our city’s style,” says Christabel.

“With Shanna as the Face of Fashion Avenue, there is no better alignment of two South Australian movers and shakers in the fashion industry.”

Tickets for the event go on sale today, Monday 2 July, at www.ticketbooth.com.au, and start at $60 for standing or $85 for seated. Fashion lovers across Adelaide will have a rare opportunity to witness the latest collections from designers across the country – something that has never been available to the Adelaide public before.
