With springtime blossoming and a calendar brimming with social soirees, it’s essential to make every entrance a showstopper. This season, TAFE SA students are inspiring you step out in style with their vibrant and inventive fashion designs.
The Advanced Diploma of Fashion students were assigned the the task of designing and creating an outfit of their choice fit for the upcoming Spring/Summer season for the Burnside Village ‘RSVP Ready Fashion Design Award.’
Burnside Village, renowned for its exclusive assortment of luxury fashion labels, has taken an exciting step forward. By launching this award, they aim to shine a spotlight on emerging local fashion designers, providing a platform to unveil their talents. This collaboration is about more than just style; it’s about nurturing the next generation of fashion trendsetters.
Fashion enthusiasts looking for a unique ensemble for upcoming special occasions, take note. These students have channelled their skills into creating attires for events such as the Spring Racing Carnival, weddings, and engagement celebrations.
TAFE SA Principal Lecturer for Fashion, Costume, Retail, and Floristry Helen Jansson says RSVP Ready has provided students with a valuable opportunity to test their design skills.
“Our Advanced Diploma course teaches practical skills in designing and constructing garments and this competition has given our students the chance to put all those skills to use. They’ve enjoyed the challenge of being creative while also meeting the client’s brief, which is important, and they’ve produced some excellent outfits for the spring/summer party season,” Helen says.
Burnside Village Centre General Manage Jodie Kannane was excited for the students to showcase their talents.
“The exhibition offers an opportunity for us to support South Australian fashion talent and allow the students to display their innovative designs to our community,” she says.
For those eager to witness these fashion-forward creations, you’re in for a treat. Burnside Village will house the shortlisted designs from Friday, September 22 to Sunday, October 1.
