It is that time of year again! Father’s Day is just around the corner and dads are notoriously difficult to cater to. While it’s easy to get them a Bunnings voucher and call it a day, the Stamford Grand in Glenelg is hosting a couple of events to make Dad Day a little more special.
If your dad likes nothing better than to dig into a massive barbeque, complete with slaw, sides and fries, The Grand Bar is hosting a Low & Slow BBQ Lunch this September.
The Father’s Day feast includes a full plate of low and slow BBQ South Australian meats, house-smoked chicken wings, barbequed beef brisket sliders, and Stamford’s renowned satays.
Each platter, which serves two adults and two children, is also served with house-made spicy BBQ sauce, slaw, pickles, garlic bread and fries.
If barbeque isn’t your dad’s cup of tea, perhaps gin is! Alongside the Low & Slow BBQ Lunch is the Stamford Grand’s Father’s Day Gin High Tea, featuring traditional house-made fluffy scones, sweet treats, savoury items, and Stamford’s signature curry puffs.
For dads with a sweet tooth, the high tea includes some delicious mini blueberry cheesecakes, as well as double raspberry choux pastry puffs, fresh fruit tartlets, macarons, and mini lemon raspberry tarts. We’re salivating just talking about it!
To balance the sweet, the family can choose from a whole host of hot & savoury options too, such as porcini and black truffle arancini balls, salmon rillettes, and corned beef on rye with mustard and pickles.
Both adults and children can join in on the fun, with two session times to choose from. Only the adults, however, can choose from some of the delightful gin cocktails on offer.
Whether your dad is a Dirty Martini or Southside kind of guy, or if he prefers the likes of a Lychee Sour or Strawberry Smash, the Father’s Day Gin High Tea doubtlessly dishes up a Father’s Day experience with a twist.
The Stamford Grand continues to provide a colourful collection of events year round, from Meet the Maker experiences, whiskey tastings, and more. Keep up to date with the latest events by checking out the Stamford website.
