The world’s favourite dysfunctional hotel trio, Basil, Sybil, and Manuel, are returning to the Adelaide Fringe in 2025 with their hit show, Faulty Towers The Dining Experience. From February 21st to March 23rd, this hilarious, interactive show will bring chaos, laughter, and a three-course meal to diners, as it celebrates the 50th anniversary of the iconic TV series Fawlty Towers. With its legendary status as the longest-running show at the Adelaide Fringe, this year’s performance is set to be bigger, bolder, and more unpredictable than ever.

Since its debut in Brisbane in 1997, Faulty Towers The Dining Experience has grown into a global sensation and one of Australia’s greatest theatre exports, drawing over a million people worldwide. The 2025 Adelaide Fringe marks its 18th consecutive year at the festival. As the longest-running immersive production in London’s West End and a key part of the international touring circuit, it has made a lasting impact on audiences around the world and has certainly made its mark on the global stage.

2025 is a special year for Fawlty Towers fans, as it marks the 50th anniversary of the original BBC series created by Connie Booth and John Cleese. Though the TV show ended years ago, its legacy lives on through Faulty Towers The Dining Experience. Unlike traditional theatre, this show doesn’t follow a script from the original series. Instead, it’s inspired by the chaotic antics of Basil, Sybil, and Manuel, with 70% of the performance improvised. This means each show is a unique, unpredictable mix of hilarious jokes, slapstick comedy, and chaotic service. When guests enter the “Faulty Towers” restaurant, they can expect anything; after all, with Basil’s mismanagement, Sybil’s eye-rolling, and Manuel’s loveable mistakes, no two shows are ever the same.

“2025 is a special year for Fawlty Towers. In this Golden Jubilee year, we are so excited to return once again to Adelaide – the place that gave us the confidence to launch our international touring, and launched our success,” Producer Jared Harford says. “As the longest-running show of the Fringe, it is a privilege to return again to mark our 18th season in style.”

Faulty Towers The Dining Experience first appeared at the Adelaide Fringe in 2008 and has been a sell-out hit ever since. In fact, this year will be the first time the show performs for the entire duration of the festival, following last year’s remarkable sold-out run, with tickets already in high demand.

This year’s cast features an all-star lineup of performers, including audience favourites like Jed McKinney, Eilannin Harris-Black, and Scott Middleton, alongside local Adelaide talent Lara Dignam, all who bring their own comedic flair to the roles of Basil, Sybil, and Manuel.

As Faulty Towers The Dining Experience celebrates the 50th anniversary of Fawlty Towers and returns to Adelaide for its longest-ever run, it’s clear that this immersive comedy has become a global phenomenon, one that continues to have audiences year after year.
