Adelaide’s annual LGBTIQ+ Queer Arts and Cultural Festival Feast is proceeding as planned in November 2020.
Registrations for artists have officially opened for the festival with a closing date of July 13, 2020.
Rebuilding the critically affected arts sector is of great importance especially due to the impact of COVID-19.
To tackle this, Feast is offering free or “Pay As You Can” registration for the 2020 program.
For those who wish to donate The “Pay As You Can” registration allows individuals to donate as much or as little as they want to in lieu of regular registration fees.
“We are working hard to try and minimise financial roadblocks for LGBTIQ+ artists and event organisers in this year’s Festival,” said Feast General Manager, Helen Sheldon.
“We hope this is an incentive for artists and event organisers to register and be part of a united celebration of our LGBTIQ+ communities during these unprecedented times.”
Feast recognise that registration fees are not the only associated costs and are working with venues to support artists financially.
“We have several venues that are offering free venue hire for artists this year which is a huge financial support, considering the hospitality sector has also been impacted by COVID-19,” said Mrs Sheldon.
Every year it is important to celebrate Feast, as a marker to show how far the LGBTIQ+ communities have come.
In light of COVID-19, there is no better time to bring the community back together to continue that celebration of pride and diversity in South Australia.
Registrations close on July 13, to register your event head to Feast’s website at http://www.feast.org.au/registrations/.
