They had us boogying away in May with their disco club, and now, Silver Brewing Co has made a rugged turn into the Spring Equinox with a two-night Valhalla Viking event on Friday, 23 and Saturday, 24 September.
From the same talents behind Kafana Kitchen and Bar on Peel Street, Silver Brewing Co’s Viking nights have been in the making ever since the brewing, distilling and cellar door venue made its way onto Gouger Street in March this year.
In a weekend of pagan practice, pints and pig on a spit, you’ll be transcended to the early Middle Ages with festivities that are set to be blazing with a Viking fire from 8pm—reminiscent of the mythological characters worshipped in Norse mythology.
As you’re wowed with an aerial performer, feast on one of their special fire-cooked Viking burgers, or grab a bite from their meat platter that takes the best of archaic cuisine and is tweaked with the favours from their modern menu.
And if that wasn’t enough, you won’t be disappointed with one of Silver Brewing’s signature pizzas to be washed down with your choice from their many cocktail specials, house-made spirit specials and house-brewed beers.
Premier house DJ, Ezee G, who has soothed our ears with his mix of soulful music in the past and is a regular contributor to Fresh 92.7, will be bringing his spin on medieval jams to the evening. Joining him is Hollywood, who will also be playing their hits from 6pm both nights.
If there’s ever been a time to whip out the ol’ tunic and cloak, it’s at this event. The best dressed is promised a “Viking experience prize”, it seems like one you won’t want to miss!
