Find Out Why Adelaide’s Beach Polo Is This Season’s Hottest Ticket

The world’s most glamorous game, ‘Beach Polo’, is set to tear up the sands once again at Glenelg beach this February and we’ve got all the details for this perfect day out.

When Polo in the City hit Adelaide a few years ago, it was easily one of the most glamorous events Adelaide had seen. So last year, when the masterminds behind that event brought us Beach Polo, Adelaide flocked to the day out. It was easy to see why, as the event encompassed our sparkling white beaches, gorgeous champagne, a stunning setting, and some fast-paced action with the polo players on the shores.

The world’s most glamorous game, ‘Beach Polo’, is set to tear up the sands once again at Glenelg beach on February, 10 supported by international brand, Champagne Pol Roger, which returns this year as the presenting sponsor.

This year’s highlight is the introduction of an international match between Singapore and Australia, as part of the emerging World Beach Polo series. The Singapore team will be led by one of Singapore’s most successful businessmen, the billionaire, Iqbal Jumabhoy, and his nephew, described as Asia’s answer to Nacho Figueras, Ameer Jumabhoy.

No one does hospitality like Beach Polo! This year, lucky invited VIPs will be able to once again assume a barefoot and perfectly elegant guise, inside the opulent ocean view VIP Pol Roger Marquee.

They will feel like they have materialised somewhere in the South of France, Ibiza or Miami, as they sip Champagne while games of polo unfold before their eyes upon the pristine white sands of Glenelg Beach, against an azure backdrop of St Vincent Gulf.

Launching for the first time this year will be the much anticipated, Sesión Tequila Beach Club (Sesión Tequila is a brand owned by Australia’s favourite supermodel, Jennifer Hawkins and husband Jake Wall), tickets for which will cost $185, inclusive of food and beverage.

The deluxe Sesión Tequila Beach Club experience, based on the iconic Mexican beach clubs, will allow guests to Sip Sesión Tequila cocktails, and a selection of other drinks, with sand between their toes, while admiring the wide expanse of the cerulean St Vincent Gulf and revelling in the polo action and fashion displays, or grooving to the tunes of the resident DJ.

Another exciting addition to the hospitality profile is the Ambra Liqueur Bar. For $85 guests will have access to prime polo viewing positions, a cash bar for food and alcohol, featuring the Ambra Spritzer, as well as the chance to meet the players and participate in a variety of activities to win exciting prizes, such as the Fashion on the Beach competition, the Dash and many more.

Other than Pol Roger Champagne, returning sponsors from last year include Lexus of Adelaide, who will be providing umpiring services, Glenelg Jetty, who will sponsor a Team taking on Team Fox Real Estate and Trojan Security. Local winery Penley estate will supply wines while The Stamford Hotel has come aboard as the Official Hotel and After Party venue.

We don’t know about you, but we’re pretty excited for the return of beach polo to Glenelg (and at the prospect of not having to wear heels to an event!).

You can catch all the action on Saturday, February 10. For more details and to get amongst the fun head to the Beach Polo website here.
