After igniting yesterday, an ongoing grass fire at Solomon near Kimba on the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia has flared up. The blaze, currently affecting the Caralue Bluff Conservation Park, is reportedly fueled by lightning strikes that have started multiple fires across the region.

As of the latest reports, the fire continues to challenge emergency response teams due to flare-ups near established containment lines. About 16 trucks from both the CFS and the Department for Environment and Water, alongside observational aircraft and plant equipment, are actively engaged on the fireground. These resources are working diligently to extinguish persistent hotspots found in scrub and native vegetation of the conservation area.

In an effort to effectively manage the situation and provide sustained firefighting operations, additional firefighters are scheduled to arrive from various parts of South Australia today. These personnel are intended to offer relief to the current teams and help maintain a vigil over the fire into the early hours of tomorrow.

Authorities have advised the public to avoid entering the affected area unless absolutely necessary, to ensure both their safety and that of the emergency workers deployed at the site.
