Fireworks, food trucks and global flavours to take over McLaren Vale at Twilight Food Affair this March

The Twilight Food Affair is returning to McLaren Vale this March, bringing food trucks, carnival rides, live music and fireworks for an annual community celebration.

This March, McLaren Vale’s Tatachilla Lutheran College will be taken over by the Twilight Food Affair for one night only, bringing an outdoor festival of food, music and family-friendly entertainment to the school.

The festival will return as one of the Southern Vale’s most anticipated and established events, attracting more than 4,000 guests every year. Twilight Food Affair has become a much-loved tradition for local families and friends looking to celebrate the last warm evenings before daylight saving ends. The school grounds will host food trucks, carnival rides, live entertainment and a spectacular fireworks display at 9pm, transforming it into a festival for visitors of all ages.

One of the most exciting elements of the event each year is the growing international food lineup, and 2026 is looking to be its most diverse yet. Attendees will be able to stroll between stalls and food trucks serving flavours from around the globe. There will be everything from Spanish paella and Sri Lankan street food to Greek souvlaki, Sicilian arancine, woodfired pizza and sweet treats like Dutch stroopwafels and crêpes.

The vendors set to appear at this year’s festival include Santopalato, Baltic Fine Food, TaCHs Stroopwafels, Ninin’s Indo Street Food, Taco Cartel, Friwi Crêpes & Co, Bao Plus, Little Island Sri Lankan Street Food, Orexi – Home of the Greek Souvlaki, Liquid Delights, Chimichurri Grill, Miss Dagwood Dog Adelaide, Wild Woodfired Pizza, Spinning Spuds, Chocolique, Slice Slice Baby, Fairy Floss Galore, Carlito’s Paella and Little Acre Foods.

While the food offering is a major highlight, the Twilight Food Affair has always been about getting the community involved. The event creates a safe and welcoming space for families, with plenty of entertainment for kids while parents relax, connect and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Visitors are encouraged to bring picnic rugs, grab a group of friends and arrive early to explore the full festival experience. There are carnival rides and live music through to the much-anticipated fireworks finale.

What began nearly three decades ago as a small ‘Farm Day’ fundraiser has steadily grown into a major regional celebration of food, family and community. The Twilight Food Affair now stands as the largest event on the college calendar and a highlight for many families across McLaren Vale and the surrounding southern suburbs.

The Twilight Food Affair will be held at Tatachilla Lutheran College on Friday March 20th from 4:30pm to 9pm, with gold coin parking available on site.
