19-year-old social media sensation Tom Oswald is about to launch his next big adventure, opening his new cafe Homeboy on North Terrace next week.
What started as a pop-up in Hahndorf in July 2023 has quickly grown into a full-fledged business, fuelled by the overwhelming support of Tom’s massive social media following. With 243K TikTok followers and 309K on Instagram, Tom has built a global audience that follows his journey of running a small business. His candid content about the highs and lows of entrepreneurship has connected him with fans from all over the world, helping to put both his cafe on the map.
Now, Tom is ready to take it to the next level, bringing his signature coffee, sandwiches, and cinnamon scrolls to a permanent location on the ground floor of Yugo Adelaide City – a student housing space located on North Terrace.
“I’m so excited to launch ‘SZN2’ of Homeboy in the CBD,” Tom said. “After working with Renew Adelaide to find this dream location at Yugo, I’m hoping to inspire creatives, spark conversation, and build community with the addition of quality coffee and food.”
With the backing of Renew Adelaide, Tom’s new cafe is set to be the ultimate hangout spot – a cozy and inviting space where students of Yugo Adelaide City and others can gather and enjoy his food and coffee.
“We’re in awe of what Tom has accomplished in just over a year and are so excited to work with him as he branches out into creating a space that’s truly his own,” Renew Adelaide CEO Gianna Murphy said.
“Transforming this tenancy into something that reflects the Homeboy brand is Tom’s biggest project yet, and we can’t wait for Adelaide (and the whole world!) to see the hard work he’s put into this space.
“We’re delighted by the opportunity we’ve been able to offer Tom in collaboration with our property partners at Yugo Adelaide City, as he tests his café concept in the CBD.”
It’s an exciting new chapter for Tom, as he brings the unique Homeboy vibe from the Adelaide Hills to a CBD audience. With a soft launch next week and the grand opening on Thursday November 28th, Tom’s cafe is sure to be a go-to spot for Yugo students and city workers for great coffee, sandwiches, and, of course, those famous cinnamon scrolls.
