Missed out on Euro summer this year? Or still have the post spritzes-on-the-coastline blues? The Alma’s new Spritz Bar has you sorted.
The Norwood mainstay has turned its leafy beer garden into a European summer escape with the launch of its new Spritz Bar last Friday, South Australia’s only official Campari-backed venue and a vibrant ode to Italy’s coastal aperitivo culture.
The transformation is every bit the Mediterranean dream. Warm terracotta tiles run across the outdoor bar, custom spritz taps gleam under the afternoon sun, and comfortable booths with duck-egg blue cushions sit beneath walls splashed in Aperol’s trademark orange. The tables are now tiled and glistening, and oversized Aperol and Campari murals by local artist Billie Justice Thompson make the space just belissima.
“The Spritz Bar captures the feeling of a long, European summer afternoon, where great drinks, good company, and a little bit of sunshine all come together,” said Mark Condi, CEO of Duxton Pubs.
Aperol and Limoncello spritzes – just $16 – lead the drinks lineup of course, but there’s also other cocktail hits for $20 like Negronis, watermelon Caprioskas and Espresso Martinis, plus Peroni on tap.
Spritz on tap is a plus for all of us. Every drink is pre-blended and arrives perfectly balanced with a signature garnish – meaning no waiting and no “too much prosecco” or the painfully tart Aperol overkill. It’s dangerously efficient.
And because no Euro-inspired session is complete without snacks, the Alma’s kitchen is turning out antipasti platters and wood-fired pizzas piled with Mediterranean favourites like asparagus, artichoke, and creamy mozzarella.
With room for 150 people and a retractable roof for when Adelaide’s weather inevitably throws a tantrum, the new Spritz Bar is built for long lunches that roll into sunset sessions and beyond.
Open Fridays to Sundays all summer long, this is the next best thing to sipping spritzes on the Amalfi Coast, and you can save the airfare fees for more drinks.
“The Spritz Bar is all about celebrating the best of the Amalfi Coast in Adelaide,” Mark added.
