The grand opening on Saturday included free lollies for kids, a balloon popping contest for charity (with a heap of prizes won) and all sorts of radical deals on everything delicious!

Although chocolate is bad for pups, Kandy House promised and provided treats for the fluffy friends of customers upon entry (to take home, of course). It’s just a shame that, as a shopping centre, they weren’t allowed in.

“It’s not your average lolly shop, because we’ve got over 2000 lines of sweets from across the world,” said Markus Blake, owner of Kandy House.

“South America, Malaysia, Japan, Australia, of course too.

“We’ve even teamed up with a Melbourne-based company, RoverPet for dedicated healthy treats for dogs, so they get something tasty too.”

We’re keen to enjoy some delectable chocolate next to our pets, but… Hey, wait… That’s an average afternoon in the Glam Adelaide office.

Although Feb 4 saw visitors enjoying something scrumptious at Salisbury, with fun and games for the whole family to enjoy, it’s far from the only time to head in and pick up some goodies.

The new Kandy House store is adjacent to Woolworths and the crowded confectionary shelves certainly rival those of Adelaide’s go-to — Blackeby’s Old Sweet Shop.

For only $1.50, customers were able pick up some popcorn at the launch and for those that spent upwards of $50 at the grand opening of Kandy House, four lucky winners took home 2.5kg blocks of Cadbury dairy chocolate.

“Another good thing about us is that we’re catering to diabetics as well, because a lot of the stuff that we’re stocking, well, we want to make sure that they’re included too,” Mr Blake added.
