FIRST LOOK: Bar 9 Unveils New Look In CBD Cafe

Bar 9 is a verified foodie haven and their refresh has some great surprises in store for visitors.

Bar 9 have long-been an institution of Adelaide’s coffee scene, first establishing themselves in Parkside, where they attracted clientele from near and far. Then in 2013 they opened a second location in the basement of Adelaide Central Plaza next to David Jones.

As of today, Bar 9 is focusing all of its efforts into their CBD location and this is most evident with their refresh.

With the sad closure of their Parkside eatery and their Whitmore Square cafe, early in 2017, Bar 9 in the CBD is the spot to experience Adelaide’s most awarded coffee.

That’s where the crux of it lies, their brand and their exemplary coffee and food needed to be reflected in the venue too. Something that owner, Ian Callahan, says is harder to instil in a shopping centre.

Bar 9 is a verified foodie haven, but without the trouble of having to hunt them down a hidden laneway. It’s all about accessibility and convenience, which during Fringe season is imperative. That’s why Ian has opened the doors today so that everyone can come to get the rustic vibe, don’t be fooled by the spacious cafe, what’s coming is spectacular.

The cafe is going to become a hub for artists. With local artist J2ske installing a mural right next to their coffee machine. Continuing with that vibe, the walls are going to be decked with the work of local artists, on a three month rotation.

And to kick things off,  Adelaide fashion designer Dresd, of will be creating a hanging piece that’ll hang on the wall.

All of this complemented by Bar 9’s merch, the range of coffee related paraphernalia will be extended upon with brewing devices and the option to purchase award winning Ona beans, which Bar 9 is the exclusive Adelaide supplier of.

Their kitchen is produce driven and that passion is part of their identity, that’s why they were only closed for three days during renovations. The rest of the changes will be installed by early next week.

If you’re haunting around the mall, head to Bar 9 to check out their refresh or even drop off your partner there while you go shopping. They won’t be complaining.
