Attention all North-Eastern suburbs beauty lovers—no more trekking to the city for your serum, scrub, fragrance or lip gloss, because the new Mecca Tea Tree Plaza store has officially opened its doors.

As part of the recent upgrades to Westfield Tea Tree Plaza, Mecca opened last weekend offering express facials and makeovers, makeup lessons, and much more to welcome new customers to the location.

This new location at Tea Tree Plaza makes this the third MECCA location in South Australia, joining MECCA Rundle Mall and MECCA Myer Adelaide, along with MECCA Maxima in Burnside and Marion, and also MECCA Cosmetica in Burnside.

Founded by Melbournian Jo Horgan in the late ’90s, MECCA has redefined the beauty landscape in both Australia and New Zealand, delivering the ultimate beauty experience that not only gives Aussies access to the best global beauty brands but also helps to empower and educate its community to look, feel and be their best.

Jo’s vision in creating MECCA was to search the globe for the ultimate in makeup, fragrance and skincare and bring these world-class brands home to Australia. In 1997 when the first MECCA Cosmetica store opened in Melbourne’s South Yarra, it featured seven globally renowned brands that weren’t previously available Down Under.

Since its opening, MECCA has seen massive growth, expanding into the three brands that we know and love today—MECCA, MECCA Cosmetica and MECCA Maxima—with stores all over Australia and an online shopping hub, making it super easy for Aussies to get their beauty fix.

Now with trending brands like Drunk Elephant, Charlotte Tilbury and Sol de Janiero, along with its popular MECCA MAX, Mecca-ssentials and MECCA COSMETICA home brands, MECCA has become Australia’s largest prestige beauty retailer, ahead of global beauty retail chain Sephora.

Besides the new MECCA, Tea Tree Plaza has seen recent upgrades including a major overhaul of Myer, with the renovation completely revamping two levels of the store and eliminating one level. It’s left space for a new TimeZone Bowling set to open soon, and a new JB Hi-Fi store next door which has just opened its doors.

There’s also been a small interior revamp to the centre—opening up level two to allow for more light and the addition of new flooring—as well as the inclusion of new stores, including Peter Alexander, Sushi Hub, Prosegur, Billini, All Around Massage, Sushi Hiro, and OmMade Meet the Maker.
