FIRST LOOK: Bowden Brewing expands into 600-pax venue, launches new pizza joint Lucky’s

Bowden Brewing is unveiling its vibrant new Plant 3 home, complete with four bars, two kitchens, and a lively pizza menu just in time for its 4th birthday celebrations.

Bowden Brewing’s massive Plant 3 takeover has landed, and it’s looking lively. With tables spread throughout Plant 4’s sister venue, a pool table salvaged from a much-loved Adelaide brewery, and a brand-new pizza kitchen, the bright, open space is set to hum with atmosphere in the lead-up to the warmer months.

Bowden Brewing has now thrown open the doors to its new home in Plant 3, and this Saturday 23 August, it’ll get an official opening, coinciding with the brewery’s fourth birthday.

After outgrowing its smaller footprint, the team has taken over the entire Plant 3 space, transforming it into a late-night hub with four bars, two kitchens, private event spaces, and a big screen for sport.

At the heart of the expansion is Lucky’s Pizza, Bowden Brewing’s brand-new pizza kitchen that sits alongside the brewery’s much-loved Mexican kitchen, Masa. Lucky’s brings a fresh spin on classic Australian takeaway pizzas with inspiration from New York slices. Think crisp bases, fresh house-made dough, and toppings that nod to family favourites.

On the menu, you’ll find a margherita, ham and pineapple, pepperoni, chipotle BBQ chicken, mushroom, veg supreme, and meat supreme, with options for gluten free bases and vegan cheese. On the side, choose from a garlic pull-apart, Parmigiano Cos salad, or crust dips with truffle mayo, BBQ, green, or chipotle sauce. And to finish, you can grab yourself a Lucky’s tiramisu.

“Pizza is the perfect sharing food,” says Co-Owner Jake Phoenix. “And this is our version of something that fits Bowden and fits beer. It’s thin, crispy, built to travel, and perfect whether you’re grabbing a slice during happy hour or sitting down with mates over a jug.”

The venue’s redesign sets the stage for nightly activations, building on the brewery’s already busy calendar of quiz nights, Taco Tuesdays, and locals’ specials. There’s also a pool table, saved from the recently closed Brewboys brewery, and expanded mezzanine and balcony spaces that can host up to 200 guests for private functions.

General Manager Josh Talbot says the aim was to create a true neighbourhood venue. “With more and more people moving into Bowden, the area is really crying out for a local where the community can come together, watch the footy, grab a pizza, and feel at home,” he says.

The launch coincides with Bowden Brewing’s fourth birthday on Saturday 23 August, which doubles as the first chance for punters to see the new space in action. The party will feature live music, DJs, raffle giveaways, two new beer releases, and of course Lucky’s serving up slices until sold out.

For a brewery that’s built its reputation on a laid-back atmosphere to match the suburb, great beer, and community, the Bowden Brewing expansion feels like the next natural step. Expect more room, more energy, and plenty more Purple Yeet Juice.
