FIRST LOOK: Cimicky Wines launches stunning Tuscan homestead in heart of Barossa

Cimicky House – named after the original owners of the winery – has launched, giving families the chance to stay in a slice of history – with a vino in hand.

If you’re like me, scrolling on Instagram has become a void filled with sunny European skies, as what feels like half of all the people I know head North for winter.

It was with this mindset that I headed North (in SA) to Cimicky Wines in the heart of the Barossa. Little did I know that I was about to be transported to a stunning Tuscan oasis, right here on our doorstep. A world of rustic elegance and tranquility.

Cimicky House – named after the original owners of the winery – has launched, giving families the chance to stay in a slice of history – with a vino in hand. It’s bold, leafy and exotic.

As you pass through the green marble archway, you are greeted by the heart of the house – the open-plan kitchen and living room. Adorned with dusty sage cabinets and accentuated by warm mahogany features, this space effortlessly balances modernity with old-world charm. The house is thoughtfully furnished, with a fully equipped kitchen that allows you to prepare delicious meals with the finest local produce.

But it’s the wood fire that truly sets the mood, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the Barossa Valley.

The bedrooms are a haven of comfort and sophistication. The fireplaces in the bedrooms are maintained to preserve their historical heritage, and they add a beautiful decoration to these rooms. For your comfort, Dyson heaters are used to provide warmth during your stay.

There are two queen bedrooms, a twin room with two single beds, and a room with three single beds, making Cimicky House an ideal choice for multi-family stays or group get-togethers.

A delightful surprise awaits you in the ornate bathroom, where a freestanding bath takes center stage, surrounded by gorgeous dark wooden features. The ensuite bathroom boasts stunning Gatsby tiles, adding a touch of glamour to your bathing experience.

Venturing outdoors, the pool is surrounded by towering ferns, creating a private haven shared only with the kangaroos that greet hopped up to the fence to say hello in the morning. It being the middle of Winter, I can’t vouch for the temperature of the pool. Only the view of the pool from my position, tucked up on the couch in front of the fire.

The true highlight of our stay was the captivating moment in the morning, when the sun rises over the vineyards, casting a magical golden glow upon the castle-like structure of Cimicky House. It’s a breathtaking and exotic sight.

Cimicky House carries a profound sense of history, and I found myself marveling at the remarkable legacy left behind by Charles Cimicky. The winery’s captivating wines, steeped in tradition and expertise, tell a story of dedication and passion that lingers in the air. As I immersed myself in Cimikcy’s surroundings, I couldn’t help but feel the indelible connection to its past and the enduring commitment to producing exceptional wines.

Cimicky House at Cimicky Wines offers a divine retreat for those seeking a taste of Tuscan paradise without leaving our state. From its enchanting architecture and luxurious amenities to the beauty of its vineyards and gardens, this private oasis is the epitome of an idyllic family getaway or a romantic escape.
