FIRST LOOK: Flambé Bar and Kitchen brings jazz flair to the CBD

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Hutt Street based eatery focuses on flame-grilled meats and SA produce with a jazz vibe.

Licks of flame dancing across a hot pan, to flambé is to create drama and theatre through cooking, ultimately sparking joy. And that is exactly what new Hutt Street restaurant Flambé Bar and Kitchen aims to do – spark joy.

“For me, when I see someone smile because they’ve had something amazing to eat, it makes me happy. Putting a smile on someone’s face through food makes me happy.”

Aptly named Flambé, the restaurant portrays the name not only the menu but also in feeling.

Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Flambé is a proud display of the high-quality produce we are lucky to have in South Australia with all ingredients used across the menu being sourced locally where possible.

“Part of the reason we wanted to start a restaurant was to showcase South Australia,” say the team behind the new establishment.

“We wanted to venture into something where the produce is the star of the dish. When good things are available right here, that’s what we want to put on the plate. It complements both the grower and the consumer.”

The local produce has been put to great use across the restaurant’s select menu which sees a selection of perfectly charred cuts of meat with modest yet delicious sides – the simplicity allowing the ingredients to shine in their own right on the plate.

The Head Chef was handpicked by the owners and brings with him 35 years of experience.

“The menu is a collective vision from us and the chef. His use of old-school cooking styles is what attracted us to him”.

A vibrant and lively energy fills the space from morning to night with the evenings transforming into an understated jazz bar. The smooth, rhythmic tones of jazz music will play each night, soundtracking your evening as you indulge in the mouth-watering menu, perhaps accompanied by one of the locally sourced spirits or wines.

And while evenings are a vibe of their own, it’s breakfast where the chef’s culinary skills really shine, particularly if you’re a favourite of eggs benny. With a handmade hollandaise that is made completely from scratch, it puts the popular breakfast dish in a league of its own.

Open 7 days a week, Flambé has all the elements to become a staple on the Adelaide dining scene and one you definitely want to keep an eye on.

Flambé Kitchen and Bar is located at 202 Hutt Street, Adelaide 5000
