Fleurieu Gin is set to open its brand-new cellar door and distillery this November, located in the stunning landscapes of SA’s Fleurieu Peninsula. Since January 2023, the site has been undergoing major renovations, transforming it into an exciting new destination.
The new facility will feature a cellar door for tastings and tours, a restaurant, and a function space. Fleurieu Gin plans to extend its opening hours for functions until midnight, incorporate live music in outdoor areas, and introduce a new terrace bar with an awning.

A special soft launch and a “thank you to tradies” is set for November 23rd. Despite facing a few challenges throughout the construction process, Co-Founder Shane Magor is excited to see the project come to life.
“Everyone comes here and they are just mesmerised with the view,” Shane says. “The whole building has been focused on the view, with big windows, open doors and a big verandah that overlooks the coast and extends back to Adelaide. It’s just a nice outlook to have a local gin and relax.”
The new space includes a beautiful lawn area and mature trees, creating a special rural setting. While no events are planned for the summer, Shane says that a handful of weddings are already booked for February and March. The immediate focus is on successfully opening before Christmas, and from then on, it’ll be full steam ahead.

The cellar door will also offer a fantastic food menu, supported by a full commercial kitchen. Guests can expect gourmet pizzas, lighter options like arancini balls and platters, as well as wedges and finger foods, with the menu expected to evolve over the coming months. The large bar will mainly feature gin (of course), but will also include a selection of local beers and wines, so that everyone can enjoy the new space and drink something they like.

Founded by Shane and Kylie Magor, Fleurieu Gin began in November 2021 from Shane’s passion for craft distilling, sparked by a simple gin and tonic. After losing interest in his real estate career, Shane found inspiration on his family’s farmland in Myponga.
Feeling that the land, once used for cattle and sheep by his grandfather, could be used better, Shane imagined developing the highest point of the farm into a facility that would eventually house a cellar door, and now that vision has come to life.
“This has been two or three years in the planning, and it’s finally done,” Shane says. “You come up here now and you’re pretty pleased at what’s evolved. The feedback so far from the people that have visited has been amazing.
“There’s been no corners cut for the build. Everything has been done to a very high standard, and it just looks fantastic. We’re pretty excited.”
With its stunning location and thoughtfully designed spaces – a result of years of hard work – Fleurieu Gin is set to become a must-visit destination in the Fleurieu Peninsula this November.
