One of Leigh Street’s most popular venues, Fugazzi Bar & Dining Room, has unveiled an exclusive private dining space. And it’s something special.
The new space, located in the previously unused basement, has been designed by the powerhouse designers at Studio Gram, and is set to level up the city dining scene – especially for groups.
“We knew there was demand in the market for a beautiful private dining space that accommodated large groups, and the basement lends itself perfectly to a discreet, dedicated function area.” said Emma Kardachi at Fugazzi.
The space is versatile, catering to both large groups and smaller gatherings, including boardroom lunches. It features a private entrance off Leigh Street, a dedicated host, and a private bar, ensuring an intimate and personalized experience for guests.
“There is a real wow factor when you walk down the stairs and enter the room; a lot of care has been taken to extend the Fugazzi brand through design but with its own unique look and feel.”
Tess Sporn, of Studio Gram, said “The brief for the project was to create a versatile space capable of accommodating various types of events, from formal dining, through to private parties and conferences.”
“The primary objective was for the new space to integrate seamlessly within the existing restaurant operations yet infuse a sense of intrigue. The result is that each space portrays its own unique identity, yet with a harmonious blend of aesthetics that are identifiable under the whole Fugazzi brand.”
“One of the standout features of Fugazzi is the custom timber detailing that adorns the space. From intricate wall panels to meticulously crafted furniture, the use of bespoke timber work showcases the dedication to craftsmanship and adds a warm and inviting ambiance. This custom approach reflects the commitment to creating a distinct and memorable experience for the patrons.”
Tailored menu options based on the upstairs Fugazzi menu are available, along with Fugazzi’s extensive wine list. So you can expect all the goodness that you’re used to, from Pacific Oysters and Fried Anchovy to Wood Grilled Southern Calamari and Hand Rolled Taglierini with Blue Swimmer Crab.
The dessert and cheese selections are equally impressive, featuring delicacies like Cocoa Pavlova with Blackberry Sorbetto and a variety of cheeses served with a selection of crackers and condiments.
There’s even a dance floor complete with mirrored disco ball. You read that right!
