FIRST LOOK: Hyde Park favourite He Said She Said is about to land in Prospect

Korean fried chicken sandos, smoked salmon waffles, and family-run fare is coming to the inner-north this month.

You’ll soon be able to grab a Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich with golden taters or a smoked salmon waffle that marries sweet and savoury at Prospect’s newest cafe arrival. He Said She Said, the Hyde Park favourite known for its premium coffee and cult brunch dishes, is heading north, opening its second outpost this September on Prospect Road.

And because no opening comes without a little fun, launch day will bring free coffees and pastries, followed by fun collaborations with neighbouring businesses still in the works.

“Expect plenty of surprises,” says owner Nizar, who runs the business with his brother Nasim and Nasim’s wife, Natasha.

If Hyde Park regulars are worried about missing their favourites, don’t be. The new Prospect menu mirrors the refreshed line-up currently running at Hyde Park. Breakfast is still the heart of the offering, with favourites like smashed avo, pistachio French toast and omelettes “flying out the door.” Bagels, paninis, and croissants keep the lunch crowd covered.

They’ll continue to pour Veneziano’s Crave blend coffee, alongside cold-pressed juices, smoothies and specialty hot chocolates.

Nizar told Glam Adelaide in August that, just like at Hyde, where the team knows your coffee order, the focus for Prospect will be on building strong customer relationships. “We take pride in what we do and treat the cafe like our home,” he shared.

The new cafe sits at the base of The Harrington, a four-storey development at 71 Prospect Road, with apartments above and retail below. Inside, the look channels Hyde Park’s vibe but with a different flow.

“Prospect is very open — you walk in and the whole dining room is in front of you, with the bar and back-of-house behind. It’s about the same size but the feel is totally different,” Nizar says.

Expansion was always on the cards, but the team were waiting for the right fit.

“My brother and I had been wanting to expand for a while, but we were waiting for the right opportunity. We’ve learned a lot from running Hyde Park, so we feel really ready for this step,” Nizar says.

Prospect, with its cinema, restaurants, bars, and new developments, was that fit. “Prospect Road has transformed in the last few years. It’s become a destination, and we’re excited to be part of that energy,” he says.

With doors opening any minute, Prospect locals are about to have a new neighbourhood go-to, and for Hyde Park regulars, another excuse to order that fried chicken sando all over again.

Opening is slated for mid-September, keep up to date on their social media for details.
