Latin American Cocktail Bar, Little Havana Co, opened its doors over the weekend, honouring its namesake city of Little Havana – a Latin cultural and social epicentre of Miami, Florida.

Owner and Manager, Cono Gorgone – who also owns Adelaide’s Sicily Pizzerias, and the Italy restaurant on Rundle Street – thanked the crowds of people who visited for its opening weekend and expressed his excitement for events to come.

“Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first night at Little Havana Co. We are overwhelmed by the support, and we cannot wait to see you on the dance floor every week,” he said online.

Pairing up with Hugo Salcedo of Latino Groove Dance Studio, Little Havana will be hosting nights filled with Salsa, Mambo, and Bossa Nova, alongside Latin American music, tapas, and classic cocktail favourites.

Formerly the location of the Lotus Lounge, Cono says he saw the venue as something he’s always wanted to do – open a Latin American cocktail bar and fill that gap in Adelaide’s current bar offering.

“There’s a significant Latin American community in SA, but there aren’t too many places that have that Latin American feel. It’s going to be a bit of fun, with salsa, mojitos, and DJs. Because why not?” he said.

Off the back of its opening weekend, Little Havana will be hosting its first Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) fiesta this Saturday. The Little Havana team invites guests to adorn their favourite costume of “dance the night away” to the hottest Latino Mix, Reggeaton, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Brazilian beats and more with live Latin percussion.

Entry to the fiesta will be $20 per person and will kick off from 9pm.

Dia de los Muertos will be a great opportunity to check out the venue and taste some of the great cocktail options on offer, such as their seven different types of mojitos!

If vibrant colours, salsa dancing, Latin music, and mojitos sounds like something you’d enjoy, you can check out Little Havana Co at 268 Morphett Street, Adelaide 5000.
