Sydney-born Tada Kids Cafe just landed in Adelaide, launching its first store in Killburn last Saturday!
Taken from the joyful “ta-da” moments in childhood, ‘Tada’ Kids Cafe is all about inspiring children’s imagination and creativity and promoting their social and cognitive abilities.
As we head into winter, there are limited activities to keep our little ones entertained, and that’s exactly where the idea was born.
“As parents ourselves, we found there were so few places for kids to play indoors, especially in bad weather,” explains Co-Founder Lily Lai, who runs the business with partner Winnie Wu.
“That’s why we created Tada. It’s all about the kids.”
What began as a single cafe in Sydney back in 2019 has grown to three New South Wales venues, with Kilburn marking the brand’s first move interstate.
Tada isn’t your average play cafe, it’s an immersive world for kids aged 1–8 – the photos don’t do the space justice. The bright, modern play areas are clean, fully enclosed, and designed for maximum visibility, so parents can relax while kids roam free.
Inside, you’ll find a mini hospital, Mario Kart and arcade game station, LEGO wall, ball pit with gaming screens, and even a beauty salon. There are mini trollies for supermarket roleplay (apparently a hit among the young ones) and interactive areas designed to boost creativity and independence.

While the focus might be on keeping the little ones busy and happy, parents can enjoy the onsite cafe, and a selection of light meals, kids meals, afternoon teas, and snacks. There’s pizza, pasta, chicken nuggets, fairybread, and sandwiches – all the eats not even the pickiest eaters can resist (parents included).
“There are chairs, sofas and tables. We just wanted to create a place for adults and kids, parents can sit comfortably, they can eat, spend time and let the kids expend their energy so they can go home and sleep quickly,” laughs Lily.
And the cherry on top of the cake? There’s no adult charge, and parents don’t need to worry about tidying up.

Tada Kids Cafe is open seven days a week from 9am (9:30am on weekends) and available for kids parties.
For those a little far out from Killburn, with the first location already drawing crowds, it might not be long before Adelaide welcomes a second Tada. Keep your eyes peeled.
