An exciting new splash of colour has arrived on Adelaide’s East Terrace, as new brunch and coffee spot Loaded Corner Café opened its doors in the past week. Owned and managed by Adelaide local Emma Ponting, this new addition to the city’s vibrant selection of breakfast spots offers all-day brunch and locally roasted coffee by Monastery Coffee.
After working in hospitality for a number of years, Emma has sought to establish a venue that provides good value and “tasty food that won’t leave you hungry or break the bank”. She says her favourite thing about working in hospitality has been the community built around quality food and coffee, and wished to create that environment herself through her own café.
Following a successful tasting on Monday August 12th, during which Monastery Coffee offered samples of their ethically-sourced Ethiopian Light Roast, Loaded Corner Café will be hosting a grand opening on Saturday August 24th. The official opening of this vibrant new location is sure to be a moment of celebration, pride, and relief for Emma Ponting “after many late nights, backaches, headaches, and big splashes of unbridled joy”.
In opening Loaded Corner Café, Emma believes she has created a destination for customers to visit with their friends or workmates for their regular coffee fix.
“We’re creating a little spot where people can come visit frequently and get together with friends and workmates. We’ve also got some board games. It’s a little escape,” Emma says.
In addition to pastries, sandwiches, and sweet treats, Loaded Corner Café also hopes to role out a pet-friendly menu in the near future, offering dog treats and puppaccinos, so customers can bring along their furry friends. Located right across the road from Rymill Park, the café could be the perfect spot for a well-earned rest after a walk in the parks for both human and canine customers.
Emma hopes to branch out into catering to offer delivered food and coffee to those working nearby in the east end’s many office buildings. She’s also more than willing to offer her customers the freedom of customisation with their meals, in addition to options catering to vegans and vegetarians.
“I want people to be able to come and make whatever customisation to their meals, and if its within my capability, it will happen,” Emma says.
Perfect for a takeaway breakfast or coffee, as well as dine-in lunch, make sure to visit Loaded Corner Café overlooking the beautiful parklands on Adelaide’s vibrant east end.
