What do you get when you combine five of Adelaide’s premium beverage powerhouses in one massive and spectacular venue? Lot 100 – fundamentally a brewery, cellar door, distillery, restaurant and function space, and architecturally a pimped-out, new-age barn. Well, we know where we’ll be spending many of our summer days.
In the mix are Mismatch Brewing Co., Adelaide Hills Distillery, Vinteloper, Hills Cider Co. and Ashton Valley Fresh, and together they’ve managed to deliver the place to be in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, just outside of Nairne. The team dreamt up the venue five years ago, found the perfect venue two years later and now, the highly anticipated spot is a reality.
The multipurpose venue is a charming blend of rustic and modern, or what Mismatch Brewing Co. co-owner, Leigh Morgan, describes as, “agricultural meets industrial”. And, the good news is, Lot 100 looks just as good as it sounds. At an impressive 55 metres long, the interior is flooded with sunlight, illuminating the sleek concrete floors, timber panelling and the focal point, a gorgeous fireplace that took a stonemason a mere three months to build. Outdoor seated areas provide a relaxing setting to take in divine views of tree-lined, terraced green fields.
It’s not just the rustic decor that will impress either. Diners in the restaurant will be treated to a fusion of modern Italian and modern Australian, the creation of head chefs, Shannon Fleming (formerly of Orana) and Tom Bubner (formerly of Pizza e Mozzeralla). Did we mention they have pizza ovens on wheels to cart over to your table and cook right there in front of you? That’s definitely how we like our pizza served!
So grab a bunch of your friends and loved ones, head up to the Hills and while away the summer days, indulging in the finest food and drinks at the venue that has it all.
Lot 100 is open Thursday to Sunday, 11am to 5pm, though they’re pretty flexible. Keep an eye out for extended opening hours in the future, as once they’ve nailed the lunch service, nights at Lot 100 are sure to be on the agenda.
