“We’re not reinventing the wheel, only the way it turns.”

This is the philosophy of Sabella Vineyards.

A pseudonym for the Petrucci family, Sabella is headed by father and son team, Giuseppe and Michael Petrucci.

Nestled in the heart of McLaren Vale, the Sabella property spans 110 acres and boasts 30 years of history.

Giuseppe and Michael Petrucci recently announced the purchase of an old church in McLaren Vale, soon to become Sabella’s cellar door.

Once a congregational church, then a unique performance space for acoustic music, soon to be a cellar door, the Fleurieu Peninsula building has lived many a life.

According to Michael Petrucci, the church is set to undergo a “full refurb inside and out” with the intention to create a “home for Sabella Vineyards”.

The outside area will be utilised in the warmer months with food and live music.

“Having a shopfront for Sabella has been my father’s dream since the label’s inception in 1999,” says Michael.

It seems Giuseppe’s dream is now coming true.

The Sabella Cellar Door is set for a late Spring 2019 opening. Stay tuned for updates.

You can find it at 133 Main Road, McLaren Vale and keep up with all things Sabella here.
