King William Road is getting all the love it deserves with a number of new bars and restaurants opening on the premium strip. Alt Wine Bar launched last weekend, Amor Tapas and Wine Bar a few months ago, STH earlier this year, and now Four Sides Bar and Kitchen.
Officially opening its doors last week, the new eatery in Hyde Park is a second venture for the team behind neighbouring eatery, Bistro Français.

Fabien Streit and Nazzareno Falaschetti are joined by Baz Rampal for the bar and restaurant, which focuses on modern Australian cuisine, showcasing a broad variety of food and preparations, along with local and international products.
“It’s four unique backgrounds coming together, the three of us coming from different countries combined with living the Australian way of life,” says Fabien Streit, Executive Chef.

“There are also four distinct spaces in the venue, so we are happy with the name on many levels.”
Four Sides Bar and Kitchen takes over the former bar, Local Wine Co, and an additional property next door, each side of the new space featuring a different feel.

The venue is divided in two main spaces; a bar and a dining area. The bar features plush green seating, pendent lights and large mirrors, following on from the main area which is set against shelving which plays host to some of its favourite wines.
The menu is broader than Bistro Français, their French restaurant that serves up select classic Gallic dishes. Grilled, smoked and charcoal-prepared dishes are among the menu, with a focus on fermentation as well, for food and drinks.
At Four Sides Bar and Kitchen you can start on some mixed nuts, potato doughnuts, chicken heart skewers, blue swimmer crab beignet, before enjoying mains of varenike, house pork sausage, chargrilled whole squid and more.

Nazzareno Falaschetti, restaurant manager for both venues, says foodies from across the city will enjoy the food and beverage offerings.
“The beverage list will also be wide in variation. Cocktails will feature highly as well as whiskey and bourbon, and an extensive wine selection in homage to the former premise. Three wine dispensers will feature behind the bar where with 24 wines served by the glass,” says Nazzareno.

Cocktails to put on your list to try include the Singapore Sling, the Painkiller, and the classic Old Fashion. Sipping on one of those while basking in the sultry lighting, makes the whole place perfect both during light hours and after dark.
