Earlier in the year we got a sneak peek of Rare Earth Retreats, the long awaited luxury, solar-powered villas. Now they’re open for bookings and oh my goodness don’t they look magnificent?
The villas are designed to harmonise with their beautiful McLaren Vale surroundings, offering a luxurious, sustainable experience.
There are three villas available, all inspired by their surroundings and aptly named Stone, Clay, and Slate. The spaces celebrate relaxing immersion and the picturesque surrounds of one of McLaren Vale’s favourite wineries. The thoughtful designs showcase the work of locals, and mesh seamlessly with the spaces they occupy.
The spaces are designed in collaboration with South Australian artists from JamFactory, each featuring furnishings and artwork that complement the natural beauty of the region. Delicately handcrafted coffee mugs, bar stools, and decor adorn each room.
You will find locally made ceramics by Jordan Gower, bespoke furniture by Stuart Colwill & Jessica Miller, and custom-made metal work by Tom Golin all throughout the villas, offering a beautiful taste of artisan luxury.
Rare Earth Retreats founder Holly Marquis said, “Powered entirely by the sun, staying with us means understanding that for us to not only thrive, but survive. We must be aware of our consumption.” It’s a reminder that you can experience luxury while making the most of the environment around us.
