Settle your Thai food cravings by stopping by the new Bangkok Snap restaurant at the Churchill Centre in Kilburn. The New South Wales Thai Street food restaurant says “Sa-Wad-Dee” (Hello) to Adelaide and is excited to share its new recipes for the adventurous foodie and average joe alike.
“We aim to introduce Bangkok street food to the people of Adelaide. Additionally, recognising the presence of several Bingsu places in Adelaide, we intend to add them to our offerings,” says Mel from Bangkok Snap.
The venue invite you to hang out with them and enjoy the atmosphere created especially to go with the food.
“Our interior design aims to reflect Bangkok street food culture, evident in our choice of tables, chairs and even Bangkok electric cables, recreating the authentic atmosphere of the bustling streets of Bangkok,” says Mel.
“Our venue offers an authentic Bangkok street food experience, allowing patrons to feel like they are in Bangkok upon entering.”
Bangkok Snap’s expertly curated menu blends fresh local produce with exotic ingredients to create a flavourful experience unlike anything in Adelaide.
It’s speciality is Thai snacks, noodles, crispy chicken, seafood, vegan goodies, and a whole lot more.
When asked what is recommend, Mel said “Our Mama Tom Yum Hot Pot (pictured below) is a crowd favourite, along with our Bingsu dessert.”
However, what got our team’s attention is their vast dessert range which they have been sharing with the online Adelaide community on their Instagram page.
One of the standouts is their Bingsu, an Asian milk-based shaved ice dessert. The pink mound of joy is what they call Humming Heart (Pink Milk), which is pinky milk-based, topped with fresh strawberry, Azuki paste, almond crumb, cloudy cream, cube bread and homemade milk sauce.
You can also sip on one of their refreshing signature slushies, coming in exciting flavours such as Thai Tea and Piñata which come with or without toppings.
Melt into a buttery, flaky Bangkok Roti available in a vast variety of flavours such as their Thai Boxy Roti which comes with fresh strawberries, vanilla ice cream and sliced almonds.
Broaden your palate with the Pattaya Roti which is topped with a Thai vibrant green pandan custard, almond crumb and vanilla ice cream. If you are not familiar with pandan, it is a tropical plant known for its fragrant leaves. Pandan’s flavour has been described as a grassy vanilla with a hint of coconut.
Thai toast provides a textural experience unlike any other. With a crispy outside and fluffy inside, it’s hard to go wrong. Try the Stuart Toast (Ba~Ba~Na~Na!!) which is served with toffee sauce, caramelised banana, almond crumb and vanilla ice cream.
“We pride ourselves on delivering the exact tastes of Thailand and Bangkok street food in every dish,” says Mel.
