If you’re on the hunt for a new go-to brunch spot, a new cafe in the Barossa Valley is serving up a feel-good mix of classic brekkie, mouth-watering lunches and of course, coffees. There’s a fresh buzz to Grazy Dayz, which held a soft launch earlier this month, inviting locals to drop in for a sweet drink, coffee and plenty of friendly hellos from the new team.
Grazy Dayz, located in Freeling, is a scenic one-hour drive north of Adelaide, next to the beauty of South Australia’s wine region. The cafe is already bustling with locals and visitors alike, flocking to what was once known as the Freeling Coffee Co.
Grazy Dayz owners and partner duo, Jess and Anthony Graham, are looking forward to bringing great vibes to anyone who swings through the cafe doors. For Jess, it comes naturally, working in the hospitality industry since she was just 16 years old, and Anthony is part of the cafe’s support crew.
“When my mum passed away in 2014, I always said I’d get a cafe to honour her. It’s not in the name, but it’s in the way we operate,” Jess said.
“We want to give a friendly, warm, inviting atmosphere with some really good food, which is everything that my mum did as well, as a person.
“We’re really enjoying it, it’s exciting to meet new people and returning customers, so I think we’re building a really good place for the small town of Freeling.”

The menu is ticking all the right boxes with it comes to the perfect brunch. All-day brekkie lovers are spoilt for choice with everything from original bacon and eggs, complete with grandma’s homemade chutney, to smashed avo and banana bread. Looking for something lighter? The granola bowl is offering fresh, summer vibes with seasonal fruit and honey drizzled on top.
When lunchtime rolls around, the menu keeps things fresh and relaxed. Think Thai salads, burrito bowls and roast pumpkin and feta salads with all the good stuff. Burger fans will be happy to, with classic cheeseburgers, a chicken caesar, and a vegan option all served up with crunchy fries.
Jess’s love for grazing boards is also a great option for sharing, or just a snack for one (we won’t judge), for the charcuterie lovers. The board comes with an assortment of cheese, cured meats, crackers, dried fruit and caramelised onion chutney.
“In January, I’ll start getting grazing boards out to local businesses and do some catering for events,” Jess said.

The new logo is now up on the cafe window, but the previous owners, Chloe and Ann Trevena said that despite selling, they were completely overwhelmed by the love and support they received from the community.
“Thank you for the conversations, the laughs, the early mornings, and the familiar faces that became a part of our everyday life. We will miss you all more than we can say,” they shared in a facebook post.
“We wish the new owners all the very best as they begin their chapter here. The café is in wonderful hands.”
It’s only week one, but Grazy Dayz is shaping up to be the new favourite local spot with it’s relaxed vibes, great food and friendly faces.
