FIRST LOOK: New cafe and sweet tooth heaven Zynski Bakes opens in the Riverland

Sweet heaven and delightful cafe Zynski Bakes opens in Renmark, offering a unique experience for sweet tooth locals and visitors.

Tucked in the heart of Renmark, new sweet haven Zynski Bakes has opened its doors, offering a unique and delightful experience for both locals and visitors.

Owned and operated by the passionate and talented Hayley Pokorzynski, this vibrant cafe and studio is more than just a place for dessert lovers to satisfy their sweet tooth cravings—it’s a warm and inviting space, offering an immersive experience in the world of macarons, where the art of baking meets with creativity and community spirit.

‘I love seeing people eat and enjoy my desserts’, says Hayley. ‘I wanted to create a beautiful destination space where customers can not only enjoy and experience all these treats first hand, but they also get to be a part of the creation, as I bake everything on site.’

Located on Renmark’s main street, Zynski Bakes is a café that goes beyond the ordinary, transforming the standard bakery expectations into a dessert paradise for those who love the sweeter things in life.

Specialising in macarons, cupcakes, cakes, personalised cookies, and tarts, the café not only provides delectable treats but also stocks a variety of local produce, showcasing the best of what Renmark offers whilst serving up the finest Five Senses Coffee to compliment their dessert selection.

Hayley’s journey into dessert heaven began with a simple desire to make cute macarons for her sister’s Kitchen Tea. Sharing her creations on social media, Hayley’s work quickly gained popularity, escalating from crafting 20 macarons a week to an astounding 1,400, along with cupcakes and cookies, which is what led Hayley to establish Zynski Bakes in its own dedicated space.

Besides serving up sweety treaties to locals and visitors of the South Aussie town, Hayley is also eager to share her expertise and dessert-making skills, offering online and on-site masterclasses for people to get involved in and awaken their inner creative side—with some of the current classes available particularly timely for the holiday season.

‘These classes provide an interactive platform for macaron enthusiasts to master the art and craft of creating these delectable treats’, says Hayley. ‘They will also teach you the secrets behind creating those tall cakes you see on Instagram!’

If you’re a macaron fiend and want to learn a foolproof way to make the best macs you’ve ever had in your life, Hayley also offers a unique online course that includes a step-by-step video tutorial, a recipe book with various flavours, a 12-month membership to the Crazy Macaron Lady Club and the first 20 registered will receive an extra large Crazy Macaron Lady Kit as an added bonus.

And, if you’re struggling for that special Christmas gift for someone on your shopping list or you want to wow people when you host this year’s holiday festivities, Hayley is offering two unique Christmas Cookie Wreath Making masterclasses this year.

The first, held at the McLaren Vale Information Centre on Sunday, the 17th of December, will run from 11 am to 1 pm, and guests will learn all the essential cookie-making skills, from stacking and piping to fondant decorating, filling macarons and flower making to create this holiday treat. Guests will enjoy a complimentary Ginny Pig Gin on arrival and, of course, get to take home their ‘too good to eat’ masterpiece post-class.

The second Wreath Making masterclass will be held at the Zynski Studio in Renmark on Friday, the 22nd of December, from 5:30 pm to 7 pm, where you will learn all the same techniques to create this unique cookie cake for your holiday table, with light refreshments provided and the option of BYO so you can enjoy a cheeky wine and make a fun night of it with friends.

Hayley, a graphic design and visual arts graduate, infuses her artistic skills into her baking, creating visually stunning and delicious treats for everyone to enjoy. ‘I feel my artistic background gives me more depth to my designs as I’m always refreshing my design skills to ensure my palette stays current’, says Hayley.

As a recipient of the ‘Emerging Success’ award and ‘2021 Runner Up Business of the Year,’ Hayley’s passion and talent go into everything she does and show how far she’s come—from a humble home kitchen to an entire kitchen studio employing three local employees, whilst being a mum of 5-year-old Hazel with husband Luke.

Whether you’re in the Riverland and pick up a stash of macarons to take home to the fam, treat yourself to a loaded cupcake as you explore the charms of Renmark, or order a cake from Hayley for your next special occasion, a trip to Zynski Bakes is well worth it. Grab your friends and book in for one of Hayley’s unique masterclasses and, as Hayley says, ‘Let us bake your day!’.
