NEW DISTILLERY: Artisan Gin House Opening In The Barossa Valley

Seppeltsfield Road Distillers have opened the first Barossa produced and proclaimed, Gin House, where you are welcome to witness the creation and (more importantly) taste their artisan gin.

From a mere conception, brought carefully from England to the Barossa, by Nicole and Jon Durdin is opening its doors very soon in the Barossa. Seppeltsfield Road Distillers have opened the first Barossa produced and proclaimed, Gin House, where you are welcome to witness the creation and (more importantly) taste their artisan gin.

Located on the iconic Seppeltsfield road is a creative new space which features one of the best decks in the Barossa, strong hues and a view of the Barossa glory.

Seventh generation Barrosan, Nicole, previously a police officer and now freelance musician and gin distiller, is joined by her husband Jon, tasting manager Bec and bearded legend Scott to provide visitors with a new experience for the Barossa.

Tasting Flights are a great option at Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers, with cocktails, gin & tonics and grazing platters on offer too.

Interestingly, Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers offer two experiences that should be noted, the first is priced at $25 and it includes a tour of the distillery, meeting Christine (hardest working German at the distillery) with a gin & tonic in hand. Experience #2 is $100 and you get the whole tour with a drink in hand, Gin Flight and a tasting plate.

The team has already been recognised through a slew of awards for their gin in London and Melbourne, so bringing their skills to their hometown of the Barossa is good news for South Australia.

There are three different styles of gin that Seppeltsfield Road Distillers are getting attention for. The Barossa Dry which is a classic juniper style gin with pink peppercorns, lavender, and cornflowers. The House Gin, stated to be for non-gin fans, is a sweet and bright citrusy concoction. Finally, Savoury Allsorts uses star anise, licorice root, fresh thyme.

The opening hours that you’re looking at make Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers a fantastic summer weekend destination. After the tasting, head to the deck and enjoy the views with a gin & tonic in hand.
