Hallett Cove’s newest cupcake and loaded cookie spot, has exceeded expectations after a three day sell out over their grand opening weekend.
For The Little Cupcake Co owner and professional cupcake baker, Rita Haddad the support from both locals and people stopping by was overwhelming to say the least.
“I was definitely not expecting to sell out three days in a row and have line ups,” she said.
“I wasn’t sure what to expect, and I wasn’t aware of how popular takeaway coffee and cupcakes would be.”
“The feed back was so good, I got so many compliments about how good the cupcakes and cookies and coffee were, I had repeated customers all weekend.”
“It exceeded my expectations and was a million times more than what I aspired it to be.”
Rita, who does all the abking on her own, had friends and family helping her create over 1000 treats in order to be prepared for the weekend, which saw customers lining up out the door.
“We starting prepping from Wednesday, and don’t stop baking till Sunda,” Rita said.
“I had three hours sleep over the weekend as i was making sure I had enough over the weekend but even that wasn’t enough.”
As a major people person, Rita growing her business from a at home custom cake service into a permanent fixture was just the right step.
“I’ll still do all custom cakes, cookies and cupcakes for pre-orders, which I’ll be baking in my kitchen here.”
The shopfront is giving customers a dedicated place to collect their custom orders, where Rita can show them the finished design in person rather than handing it over at her front door.
The best part is that there’s no special event or birthday excuse needed to grab yourself one of these irresistible cakes.
On the opening weekend The Little Cupcake Co sold 600 cupcakes and cookies on Friday, 800 on Saturday and 300 on Sunday, for a crazy grand total of 1700 treats sold.
As a special treat Rita will be holding the specials this coming weekend again for those who missed out on the cheaper treats.
There’s no doubt this is certainly Hallett Cove’s newest hotspot and if the cookies and cupcakes on display don’t speak for themselves those crazy numbers certainly do.
