FIRST LOOK: New handmade gelato shop opens on Glenelg’s Jetty Road with $1 scoops

A sleek new gelato shop with luxurious European interiors has opened in Glenelg, bringing Italian machinery, 36 rotating flavours and a massive $1 scoop launch special.

Glenelg’s dessert scene just got a major, beautifully churned upgrade. With authentic Italian machinery, 36 rotating flavours, and a massive opening special, Tiffanino is ready to make a sweet first impression on Jetty Road.

Tiffanino Gelato officially opens its doors at 35 Jetty Road, promising dense, velvety gelato in the flash new beachside shop.

To celebrate their grand opening, the team is pulling out all the stops: serving up $1 scoops from 20 May through to 31 May. Yes, you read that correctly, nearly two full weeks of dollar scoops covering every single flavour in the building.

Step inside, and you’ll feel the upscale European energy. While the final finishing touches are still being placed on the walls, the space is beautifully expansive and elegant, anchored by sleek, premium marble countertops.

“When you walk in, it feels very fancy. It’s actually quite a beautiful store with gorgeous marble countertops. We’re still putting on the finishing touches, the seating and the final wall details are coming very soon, but it’s already looking incredible,” says Store Manager Maddy.

The venue is packed with 28 specialised production machines and 8 pristine display freezers imported directly from Italy, alongside all their premium ingredients. Instead of sitting stagnant, the gelato is continuously mixed, spun, and frozen simultaneously. This super speedy 8-minute production cycle blocks the formation of ice crystals, keeping the texture extra smooth and dense.

Served at the strict, traditional sweet-spot between -8 and -10 degrees Celsius, it avoids the harsh, palate-numbing cold of traditional freezers.

“It’s very different from ice cream,” Maddy explains. “Our authentic Italian machines constantly stir and spin the gelato to keep it beautifully smooth, soft, and perfectly consistent.”

Maddy tells us the flavours are split between the softly spun machines, which keep the classics smooth and fresh, and the display freezers, which hold the gelatos with toppings and mix-ins.

With 36 artisanal flavours on high-rotation, deciding on a single scoop might prove a challenge. Fortunately, you’re very welcome to grab a few samples before making your selection.

“Our Crème brûlée is an absolute best-seller,” Maddy tells us, “and the Dubai Chocolate is incredible.”

Other immediate crowd-pleasers locked into the launch lineup include rich Pistachio, Kinder Bueno, Ferrero Rocher, and a decadent, layered Tiramisu. There’s even a water fountain installed in-store to cleanse your palate between bites.

With balloons ready to deck out the shop for its grand opening, and the machines already humming, the Tiffanino team is preparing for a bustling opening week. “We’ve had the signs up for a few days, and the word-of-mouth is traveling fast. I think everyone knows about the dollar scoops now!”

“The atmosphere is going to be great and we can’t wait to welcome everyone in,” Maddy says.

So if you like the sound of $1 scoops and luxurious European interiors, Tiffanino will be right up your alley.
