FIRST LOOK: Cottage Kitchen opens in North Adelaide this week with an SA menu focused on fresh flavours

North Adelaide will welcome a brand-new dining destination this week, as Cottage Kitchen opens its doors on Thursday December 5th. The restaurant is set to make an impression, with a focus on sustainability, local produce, and an all-South Australian menu, housed in a beautifully restored, historic 1885 cottage.

Opening bright and early at 6:30am, Cottage Kitchen will be the first in the area to offer breakfast, serving up a full menu all-day long, then a dinner menu focused on sharing delicious vegetarian and local protein dishes into the evening. Their menu is all about celebrating the best of SA, caters for a range of dietaries and is completely nut-free, so everyone can enjoy without worry.

Some delicious highlights include the Carrot, Corn & Chilli Fritter (V, GF, LFO) served with pepita, roquette, molasses, and mint yoghurt; the Cinnamon Brioche (V) with poached pear, labneh, and a rum & honey glaze; and a juicy 250g MSA Grainfed Porterhouse (GF) served with broccolini, fries, and chimichurri.

To go with their menu, Cottage Kitchen serves up a selection of drinks, including signature cocktails like the Cottage Mimosa, Berry Bloom Spritz, and the classic Bloody Mary. But the real star is their all-South Australian wine list, featuring top drops from renowned regions like Eden Valley, Barossa, and Adelaide Hills. They have selections from wineries like Rockford, Shaw & Smith, Kaesler, Sherrah, Hentley Farm and Paracombe.

If you’re more of a coffee person, Cottage Kitchen will also be serving up a rich, locally roasted brew with Cirelli coffee, offering their very own Cottage blend. They’ll also have a selection of teas from their T-Bar, including their own unique Cottage tea blend.

Cottage Kitchen is housed in a building rich in history, with a design that beautifully blends Victorian charm and contemporary elements inspired by its unique architectural features. Carefully restored and reimagined, the interior showcases the cottage’s historic character, with soft colours, elegant patterns, and a light-filled, cozy vibe that has both a rustic charm and a Mediterranean warmth. The interior features handcrafted details like olive trees and local artwork for added intimate touches.

The result is a stunning space that’s both timeless and modern, perfect for casual or special dining.

Cottage Kitchen is located just a stone’s throw from Adelaide Oval and the Adelaide Zoo, on the charming Tynte Street in North Adelaide. Nestled among the beautiful, leafy streets of the area, Cottage Kitchen will be ready to welcome diners from this Thursday, and you can now make reservations via their website.
