Summer in the south just got even better, as the Port Noarlunga Hotel has revealed its latest warm-weather offering, Porties Reef Shack. Located right on the Port Noarlunga Promenade, their new pop-up-style venue is bringing relaxed vibes to this great seaside spot.
Now officially open and set to run throughout the warmer months, Porties Reef Shack has been designed to seamlessly fit into the lives of locals and visitors enjoying beach days and long, warm evenings.
The food offering brings simple dining and Caribbean-inspired flavours that are perfectly suited to summer grazing. The drinks list keeps things light and fresh, and some drinks are even served in branded coconuts, complementing their focus on creating a laid-back atmosphere that celebrates the coastal lifestyle Port Noarlunga is known for.
Port Noarlunga Hotel Manager Mike Hooper says the team is thrilled to expand onto the foreshore and bring something new to the community over summer. “Porties Reef Shack brings simple, Caribbean-inspired food and easygoing drinks to the beachfront, perfect after a swim or while soaking up the famous Port Noarlunga sunsets.”
Behind the new venture is the RD Jones Group, whose Managing Director Danielle Donaldson says the activation reflects a broader commitment to growing tourism experiences across South Australia. “Port Noarlunga has such a strong community and an incredible natural backdrop. This activation is about celebrating that and giving people another great reason to visit during the peak summer season.”
For the Group, Porties Reef Shack is a natural evolution. Since 2018, RD Jones Group has been behind Glenelg’s very iconic Moseley Beach Club, building a reputation for crafting beloved summer destinations. Bringing that experience south to Port Noarlunga is an exciting next step that suits the character of this unique stretch of coastline.
The launch also adds an exciting chapter to the story of the Port Noarlunga Hotel itself. Built in 1932, the state heritage-listed pub has long been part of the seaside suburb. Located not far from the beach, jetty and Onkaparinga River, it has evolved over decades while remaining a place favoured by the locals.
With Porties Reef Shack now on the scene, the Port Noarlunga Hotel continues to evolve alongside its community of locals, bringing them new offerings and experiences. The Reef Shack is sure to become a new go-to for those in the region and is a fantastic addition for summertime!
