Cullen Jewellery, one of Australia’s premier engagement ring retailers, has launched a new showroom on Frome Street in Adelaide’s CBD that’s now open to clients, offering a personalised shopping experience by appointment only.
Cullen Jewellery is known for its high-end, unique designs, featuring Australian-made products and custom furnishings. The brand has collaborated with interior design talent Brahman Perera to improve its design aesthetic in this new location.
Given the strong client base in Adelaide – many of who have previously visited the Melbourne showroom – the decision to open a location in South Australia was a natural progression.
“We have a strong client base in Adelaide with online sales and clients visiting our Melbourne showroom,” Cullen Jewellery’s Brand Director, Isaiah Wittingslow, says.
Since the brand launched in Melbourne in 2018, Cullen Jewellery has created a real niche in the market for customers looking for ethical and transparent engagement ring options. The company emphasises environmental and social responsibility, with custom-designed pieces made with 100% carbon-neutral and certified lab-grown diamonds, moissanite stones, and sapphires.
The brand’s founder, Jordan Cullen, credits the company’s success to a growing demand for ethical jewellery. With over 250,000 followers on Instagram and a 300% year-over-year growth rate, Cullen Jewellery has expanded to four showrooms across Australia, and they plan to open four international locations by the end of the year.
Cullen Jewellery’s growing popularity shows changing consumer preferences, especially a move towards lab-grown gemstones that are more accessible and ethically sourced. Isaiah Wittingslow says that clients are increasingly looking for unique engagement rings with coloured or multiple stones, made affordable by lab-grown diamonds.
“The main trend we see is more and more people moving towards lab-grown gemstones; they are more accessible and don’t carry the ethical and environmental baggage of mining,” Wittingslow says.
“More of our clients also want to create unique engagement rings by using coloured or multiple stones (toi-etmoi) in their designs.
“Because lab-grown diamonds are more accessible, our clients can get a larger and higher-quality stone for a fraction of the cost of a mined counterpart.”
Although Cullen Jewellery is known for its custom wedding and engagement rings, it has also expanded to offer over 50 fine jewellery products. The new Adelaide showroom is officially open on Frome Street for customers to check it out, by appointment only.
