PUNCH is the latest creation by Jameson Gregg, a seasoned bartender with a knack for crafting memorable drinks menus for some of the city’s most beloved bars. And now, he’s pouring his talent and passion into his very own venture.
Jameson shares his motivation behind opening PUNCH with a refreshingly honest take.
The pandemic took its toll on the industry, leading to a mix of burnout among experienced staff and a flood of newbies behind the bar. This inspired Jameson to dive deep into creating top-notch cocktail and wine lists without breaking the bank, ultimately leading him to serve these concoctions himself.
And, naturally, the next step was Jameson’s very own venue. A brand new bar and bottle shop on Tapley’s Hill Road.
The bar itself is a find, with a laid-back atmosphere filled with natural light, making it a perfect escape from the everyday.
Sustainability is at the core of PUNCH’s philosophy. The bar’s aesthetic features reclaimed timber and a colour-shifting mosaic stone floor, showcasing their commitment to both the environment and stylish design.
But there’s more to PUNCH than a cool space. They’re revolutionising the drink-and-dash culture with their take-home cocktails in cans.
“Imagine enjoying your favourite cocktail at home without the fuss,” Jameson explains. “Our on-site canning machine means you can have a few cocktails here, pick your favourite, and take home a four pack.”
This innovative approach offers a new level of convenience and quality, allowing patrons to savour PUNCH’s signature drinks, like their take on a Tom Collins, anytime, anywhere.
“We’re the first in Adelaide doing this,” Jameson notes.
And they’re not just any drinks. Jameson, with his impressive track record in national and international cocktail competitions, brings a level of expertise and innovation to the table that is truly something else.
