Rosa Mexicano is set to expand its empire with a new restaurant on The Parade in Norwood. Following the successful launch of its first South Australian site in Glenelg last year, the restaurant is continuing to bring Mexican culture and vibrant flavours to local diners. The new venue, previously Paul’s Fish Café, will open on Thursday 15th August.
Owners Navi Sekhon and Harpal Chugh drew inspiration for Rosa Mexicano from their passion for Mexican culture, as well as the iconic Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. The name Rosa Mexicano, which translates to Mexican pink and Mexican rose, not only reflects the essential hues in Mexican culture but also celebrates the vibrant and diverse atmosphere of the Zona Rosa in Mexico City.
Upon entering the venue, guests are greeted by a lively pink colour scheme that sets a playful tone for their dining experience. The walls are adorned with art that echoes the boldness found in Kahlo’s famed self-portraits.
Peter Stamatopoulos, National Training Manager at Rosa Mexicano, shared, “Our mission is to deliver great quality fresh and delicious meals combined with a fun, modern and happy ambience. We want to take you to the happiest place as soon as you step inside our venues.”
The menu at Rosa Mexicano is a feast for the senses, featuring modern Mexican culinary creations. For starters, guests can indulge in a variety of dishes including stuffed jalapenos, street style corn, and Mexican croquettes. The main courses offer an ample selection of classics like tacos, enchiladas, and burritos, each with distinctive styles and a variety of fillings. Diverse “platos” such as chimichangas, paella, and fajitas further showcase the richness of Mexican cuisine.
No Mexican dining experience would be complete without a complement of beverages. Rosa Mexicano excels here too, with a drinks menu that includes shaken or frozen margaritas, assorted cocktails, sangrias, and an extensive selection of wine, spirits, and tequilas.
For families, the establishment offers a friendly ninos menu that includes quesadillas and nachitos tailored for smaller appetites. The dining experience can be sweetly wrapped up with a choice of desserts such as a Nutella quesadilla, cinnamon nachos, or hot homemade churros.
“We’re so excited for this opening and look forward to sharing our love for Mexican cuisine in Norwood,” added Peter.
Rosa Mexicano is committed to providing an engaging and joyful dining atmosphere from the moment guests walk in, aiming to transport diners to a jubilant Mexican setting through its flavourful dishes and vibrant decor.
The restaurant will operate daily from 11.30am to 9pm. Located at 218 The Parade, Norwood SA 5067, this opening marks another significant step in Rosa Mexicano’s ongoing mission to spread the joy and flavours of Mexico across South Australia.
