Whilst the school holidays have officially come to a close, there are plenty of kids out there who are still looking for fun (and plenty of parents looking for an exhale).

Enter Sea Stars Play Café: a play park that is nothing like anything you’ve seen before.

The new cafe, based in Mawson Lakes, is an exciting adventure for the young and young at heart that will have you sliding down slides, hanging from ropes and racing in dodgem cars.

The ambitious play centre has a massive indoor playground, a sensory play studio, multiple party rooms, a ball pit for crawlers and wobbly walkers, a mini-car track, and a huge slide.

The highlight? An indoor rope obstacle course, where participants are harnessed and experience the thrill of being at height. And if heights aren’t your thing, you can hop in your car and zoom around a massive racetrack.

And whilst the kids are having the time of their lives, the parents can get party supplies from the in-house store, and have a light lunch at the cafe. There is also a huge emphasis on parent support and parental groups.

It can be a very stressful experience for parents to take their kids to a play centre, so the team at Sea Stars wants the play centre to not only be a safe space for the kids, but also a safe space for the parents.

The play centre sports an underwater theme that will see projections of an underwater ‘playground’ in the toddler playrooms with interactive games projected onto the walls to keep the little ones entertained.

The colour scheme of the space is meant to reflect the seaside sensibilities of Mawson Lakes and the ‘Sea Star’ name even derives from the idea that all children are their own stars.

The orientation of the play centre is in the shape of a horseshoe, with the parent’s area being in the middle and the rest of the play areas surrounding so that parents will able to have eyes on their kids from any area.

Speaking to the Sea Stars and Play team, the reason for opening this play centre was that “they wanted to create their own version of some of their favourite play centres they’ve seen all around the world.”

Sea Stars Play Café is also available for birthday parties with packages that includes 2-hour access to the venue, so your little ones can be the envy of all their friends.
