A new standard for charcoal chicken is waiting in Prospect.
Li Beirut is bringing fire and rhythm from a family-run kitchen to cook up and dish out Lebanese-inspired charcoal chicken. Cooked the way it’s always been in Lebanese homes, over the flame, seasoned with care and placed at the centre of the table for all to share.
The team is deeply rooted in Lebanese culture. Head Chef Joumana leads the kitchen with precision and tradition, bringing flavours from his home in Lebanon to Adelaide. Guests will be looked after by front-of-house veteran, Gaby Chahoud, who brings 28 years of experience with her, ensuring each customer feels welcome.
Gaby said the new venue is a modern Lebanese charcoal chicken restaurant built around bold flavour, freshness and quality.
“It’s a fusion between a modern and Lebanese restaurant.”
The commitment to offering great products starts outside of the kitchen, sourcing South Australian produce to build its menu around fresh, seasonal food grown close to home.
“Expect signature charcoal chicken, traditional dips, salads, hearty plates, share-style meals, and Lebanese sweets, all made with premium ingredients and a healthy, balanced approach,” she said.
The food is paired with wines, originating from small South Australian producers, that reflect the same sense of place and care. Each pour is chosen not just to match the food but tell the story of the dish from start to finish. Li Beirut promises that each glass tells us about the land, the growers and the winemakers.
Local winemakers making the hit list are Lake Breeze, Dandelion Vineyards, Esilio Wines, First Drop Wines and Ministry Of Clouds, just to name a few.

But at the heart of the menu is the golden chicken, charcoaled over red flames, marinated and grilled slowly, allowing the meat to take on the smokiness while staying tender. The selection is kept simple with either whole, half or family options for feasting available.
Keeping it simple, the dish is served with pickles, chips and garlic dip. The family size brings two flame-grilled birds to the table alongside fattoush salad, chips and garlic dip, making it an easy centrepiece for group dining.
“Li Beirut is here to create a place that feels like home, for dine-in, takeaway and catering,” Gaby said. “It’s authentic Lebanese flavour, delivered with premium quality and real care.”
The venue allows you to immerse yourself fully in the Lebanese culture, offering authentic drinks from Lebanese beers, lemonades and, importantly, cocktails. Three Lebanese fruit cocktails line the menu, offering a sweet, fruity shake up into the mix, but don’t get it confused, no alcohol is involved – but maybe we could ask?
“It’s something that Adelaide hasn’t seen… the pricing is also a bit more affordable.”
The warm and inviting interior might make you want to stay for longer than intended, with wood and earthy tones making up the bulk of the aesthetics. A mixture of tables for dining and booths for relaxing line the sides of the venue.

And much like a lot of the interior artwork, the name also comes all the way from Lebanon, as their capital and largest city, Beirut, is known for its vibrant culture and blended architecture.
“Li Beirut was inspired by Lebanese hospitality, where food is more than food, it’s a connection. We wanted to bring the warmth, tradition and charcoal flavours of Beirut into a modern Adelaide setting, without losing authenticity.”
