Sportys Bar at the Arkaba Hotel has unveiled its cutting-edge renovation, featuring Australia’s first 360-degree LED screen, dubbed The Funnel.

This landmark development is part of the hotel’s ambitious $10M makeover, marking the first major overhaul in six decades, with Sportys completing the second phase.

After a meticulous six-month refurbishment, Sportys has not only expanded its viewing capacity but has also enhanced its comfort and entertainment options. The bar now boasts a state-of-the-art LED screen, a cozy outdoor area with booth seating and a fireplace, alongside new entertainment amenities like shuffleboard, digital darts, and a pool table.

The renovation was a collaborative effort involving several local South Australian businesses, including Cook Building and Folland Panozzo Architects, known for their award-winning projects across the hotel industry.

The Funnel, a 360-degree LED screen designed by Big Screen Video, sits majestically above the main bar, capable of broadcasting up to six events simultaneously. This technological marvel offers sports fans an unmatched viewing experience, setting Sportys apart as the ultimate destination for live sports in Adelaide.

Arkaba Hotel Manager, Jordarn Karpowicz, expressed his excitement about the bar’s reopening and its enhanced sports-watching capabilities. “We’re back and better than ever, but our love for live sport remains unchanged,” he said. With the ability to showcase 14 different sports concurrently, Karpowicz is confident that Sportys will become the go-to spot for sports enthusiasts in Adelaide.

Sportys’ commitment to providing an exceptional viewing experience is complemented by its all-day dining options, featuring American-style menu specials. The bar has also introduced themed nights such as Steak Night on Mondays and Schnitzel Night on Tuesdays, along with a Happy Hour offering $7 pints from Monday to Friday.

Moreover, Sportys continues to support local sports clubs and fan groups, offering them a newly revitalized space to gather and celebrate their sporting passions.

“We’re eager for our regulars and new visitors alike to witness the transformative impact of the renovation. We aim to be the home away from home for sports fans across Adelaide,” Karpowicz added, underscoring Sportys’ ambition to be at the heart of the city’s sports culture.
