Students around the state have headed back to school after the holidays, and for many, that means extra curricular activities are about to ramp up.
One of the state’s most distinguished performing arts schools, Star Academy, has launched a brand new, purpose-built facility just in time for the 2023 school year.
The stunning new studio boasts seven dance studios, an acting studio and three singing rooms, fitted out with state-of-the-art equipment. The highlights? A stage-sized studio with tarkett flooring, and a room that specialises in acrobatics, decked out with the latest training equipment.

There’s also a spacious waiting room where students can hang out between classes.
Managing Director Jenna Maiolo says that the move, just down the road from their previous location on Grote Street, had been in the works for over a year.
“We are so grateful for all our local and amazing Star families that have allowed us to grow, and in turn we have been able to create a bigger space for our students,” she said.
“We love that, over the years we have been able to provide a safe space for all our students. We will keep providing the best quality education in all areas of performing arts in our amazing new facilities with more studios and more classes.”

The impressive new facility also houses the company’s newest venture, Lune and Sol. This children’s boutique is stocking children brands such as Tiny Trove, Soll the Label, Wovenwear, and more. The new store will also be online and have the option for delivery as well as in-store pick up.

And there’s more! On Sundays, the venue transforms into a party space for children, which can be booked on the Star Academy website. The venue will also be available for hire.

But it’s not just the facility that provides students with a fantastic education. Star Academy has an extensive teaching faculty that creates a friendly, happy and creative space. Performing arts teachers are different to school teachers; they become part of a child’s life in a big way and the relationships that form are built on trust and support.
Star Academy offers an array of classes for the budding young star, including jazz, contemporary, lyrical, musical theatre, tap, ballet, dance exams, hip hop, as well as acting and singing lessons. There’s a variety of performance opportunities, too, with mid-year and end-of-year concerts to boot.
Star Academy is now taking enrolments for 2023. For more information, click here.
You can find Star Academy at 199 Franklin Street Adelaide.
